Sloan’s was designed and built on the belief that every great neighborhood deserves a great neighborhood bar & grill – A place where friends, family and neighbors can gather together and enjoy each other’s company. Local materials and tradesmen were used in the design and construction. The booths are pews from the Synagogue at 17th & Gaylord, while the chairs previously saw duty in the libraries and courtrooms of the City of Denver. We obtained copies of the historic photos of Edgewater from the City archives. We hope you enjoy your Neighborhood

Sloan’s Bar & Grill is a cool relaxed space and a solid stop overall. It did feel just a little understaffed during our visit, so service was slower than expected, but the food definitely made up for it. We ordered the spicy grilled turkey and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with a side of garlic broccolini. Both were flavorful, well-cooked, and hit the spot. The kids’ burgers were simple and satisfying plus they came with sundaes, which is always a win when dining with little ones. The quality of the food stood out, and we’d happily come back for a casual meal.

Sloan’s is a neighborhood classic for a reason! They’ve been around 20+ years, and after their renovation and menu refresh, the food is better than ever.
The fried chicken blew me away — crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor (and don’t skip the biscuit with honey butter). The green chile deviled eggs and French onion soup were also excellent, and I loved the coin margarita and berry biscuit bread pudding.
Service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. They still have their great specials like $2 oysters, $1.45 wings, and weekend brunch, so there’s always a reason to come back.
If you go, order the fried chicken. Trust me.

We purchased the 10 piece chicken dinner. The description clearly states there would be two breasts, two wings, two drumsticks and two thighs. They gave us these little tiny pieces that looked like chicken tenders and told us that those were the breasts. I got a Facebook ad that said this is the best chicken in Denver. I respectfully disagree.
We had amazing service. Kyle was very nice and very responsive. The bar is very cool and is in a very cool neighborhood. The pineapple martini was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. However, that food was not good. You take one bite of the crust and the whole entire crust or skin falls off.
The next table to us got burgers they looked really good. I would just stay away from the chicken.

Great food, drinks and service, Tonya is really cool, awesome bartender. Plenty of foods on both breakfast and lunch menu and also drinks menu. Numerous TVs showing live sports. Lots of bar seating and dining area with tables and comfy booths. Plenty of parking nearby and in neighborhoods.

Yummy chili , just the right amount of heat. Greg is a good cook. Serving chili outside in 38 degree weather is difficult, but Sloan’s bar carried it off, amazing.

So six of us came here last night for the second time in probably three weeks. I last reported that when you think you’re getting breasts, they give you tiny breast pieces. Today I was one of the only ones that wanted chicken and I asked the waiter can I get all white meat and I’m willing to pay extra he says no we don’t do that. I didn’t want to be a Karen, but I asked again if I’m willing to pay why can’t I get all white meat?
Long story short, he wouldn’t do it, which is beyond comprehension to me, but I guess every restaurant has rules, but you should really think about saying yes more than saying no there’s a lot of competition out there.
I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf instead. Disgusting is the first word that comes to mind. The bacon was soggy, not crisp and the meat had a strange taste like it was in a fire, not flame broiled, but in a fire. I ordered a side of potatoes. I got no gravy. They wanted to charge me four dollars for one biscuit.
I can go on and on and on we spent $175 for six people. I left their hungry. I won’t be back to be fair my friends who did order the chicken that do like dark meat because that’s all you get. They liked it.

Currently sitting here for happy hour and geez Louise, why haven’t I made it a point to get here sooner? It’s been on my list for a couple years and now I’m mad at myself for not getting here sooner. Everything was so damned good I forgot to take a pic. Deviled eggs, green chili tots, winter salad, and a slice of cranberry apple pie. Someone needs to roll us out of here! Oh yeah, and a biscuit to go with the salad because we had to soak up that maple vinaigrette with something. A couple of night caps set us right- the winters veil and a banana walnut old fashioned. Excellent service at the bar too.

The most lovely food & beverage place I’ve visited, by far. The hospitality is top-notch, and the food I’ve ordered arrived quickly while retaining upscale quality!
The fresh oysters were aromatic & fresh, offering a perfect bite. I chose to follow with a small bowl of French Onion soup, an easy item to critique. It is either an authentic replica or a failed representation, and this one shined!
I highly recommend Sloan’s for their acute ability to provide a refined dining experience.

Great meal here! The French Dip was great, very tasty and tender. Slaw that came with it was fresh, crispy and not your usual ho-hum slaw. Really yummy chicken quesadilla, just the right amount of spice and thickness. Fantastic lemon drop martini (I left out the lavender – yech) from the bar! Service was fast and friendly, and atmosphere was family oriented, quiet enough to easily talk.

Nearly a decade since my last visit. Definitely had a spitshine since I was there last. Tasteful and trendy with the old pew benches still. Managed to go on a busy Edgewater holiday night and its still the same greats service. Yummy drinks and tastely food.
