I loved the concept of our dish, Oysters Palafox, execution was just a touch off. Needed a hit of spice and acid to balance out richness. The textural plays were awesome with the crunchy elements intermingling with the velvety sauce. Our bartender, Carrie, made the experience so personable and made great drinks.

We were excited to try Slick Lips in Pensacola, but overall, the experience was mixed.
The good:
The oysters were absolutely fresh and delicious—easily the highlight of our visit. I also had the Slick Lips Blueberry beer from Props Brewery, and it was outstanding. Crisp, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. If I came back, it would be for the oysters and the beer alone.
The not-so-good:
The fish taco had decent flavor, but the tortilla tasted old and rubbery, so we ended up eating just the filling. The sliders were bland, and when we mentioned the lack of flavor to the server, her response was that it’s “just meat and cheese”… which honestly made no sense and didn’t help.
My wife’s blue cocktail looked beautiful but was extremely sweet—almost undrinkable. Presentation was nice, but the taste didn’t match.
Final thoughts:
Great oysters, great beer, and nice ambiance, but the rest of the meal fell short. Giving it a fair 2 stars for the items that did hit the mark.

Well, as everything on Palafox, only street and nearby parking. And, as 5 years ago, since another nearby eatery was closed, we stopped for “food”.
The only thing edible was the grits.
No one there (4pm).
The fish was not prepared as requested.
The rest was cheap or just salty.

This place is genuinely the greatest, I’ve been here three times and two of them I’ve had Tristan as my waiter. Tristan is the absolute best, going forward I’ll only eat here if he’s on shift. The oysters were great, raw and Rockefeller. All in all I can easily see myself coming back weekly!

Tried this new place for date night on a Friday evening. Service was wonderful from Riley, kind, quick, and knowledgeable on the menu. Lots of wonderful options and looking forward to trying again. It did take a bit a time for main dishes to come out with a mostly empty restaurant, only reason for 4 stars on food is my key lime fish dish came out with skin on without that indicated on the menu. I’m a new fish eater and it was strange. We had the fish dip app and it was delicious, just wish it came with something other than saltine crackers.
However, taste was wonderful on all our dishes. Brussels sprout side dish was absolutely the best I’ve ever had.

I wish we had a half star so I could rate Slick Lips with at least a 2.5. The reason? We have eaten here twice. The first time we were blown away! The food was simply outstanding. The presentation was fantastic. Everything about our meal was a solid five stars.
Our second trip was 11/22/2025. I was so disappointed and let down. We were looking forward to eating here once more and I was so sad the food was not good. I had the Cajun tuna and shrimp (same as I had prior). The shrimp was NOT fresh. With this entree they give you three shrimp over the top of your tuna. I only ate two shrimp because I could not stomach a third. All of us have thawed shrimp before. Thawed shrimp is often a little chewy. My shrimp tasted just like Walmart shrimp I thawed and cooked (maybe even worse than Walmart shrimp). The tuna was maybe a C+.
Service was great. However, I told the waiter my meal was a let down and explained why. I would suspect the waiter would have told the manager/owner to come to our table. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. I certainly wasn’t expecting a free meal. I simply wanted to express my concerns because the first time at Slick Lips was so good.
If the owners or manager reads this review, please do better. I really like your restaurant. Consistency is key to retain your clients. I look forward to giving you another shot in the near future and will hope for much better results.

We mentioned our reservation upon arrival, but no one seemed to check it. Later, I received a message saying the reservation had been canceled, which was quite strange.
The staff were polite, and the overall experience was fine, though not particularly outstanding. I’m giving 4 stars for the friendly service, but there’s room for improvement, especially in managing reservations.

I have never in my life experienced such disrespect and discrimination at a restaurant in my life. It goes to show racism is still alive here even in this day and age. Waitress was very rude with her tone and dismissive when we tried to order and when we addressed it to the manager he simply said he would talk to her. We decided to just pay for our drinks and leave, when my friend went to pay she was stand next to the waitress to take her card and pay and she completely ignored her and when she finally cashed her out and and returned to the table with her card. She handed the card to a completely different person and she simply said you gave my card to another person. The waitress responded Ridley well she had her hand out for it so I gave it to her. As a store manager myself the situation should have been handled differently and even switched our waitress.
We will never return to such a racist and rude establishment. You nude to review your staff and the manger was sweet but obviously can’t handle conflict resolution, since he decided to stay outside to avoid the situation
