Hill city is so wonderful all year round. This is a cozy place with great prices and awesome quality food. I suggest you try one of those cinnamon rolls. They are heavenly.

Great food, good service – home-cooked taste with a comfort food feel! We ate here twice this last week, once for breakfast and the other for dinner. We had breakfast in the deck which was a lot of fun. Our family enjoyed omletts, eggs and pancakes..all was delicious. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We came back for dinner and enjoyed a very juicy chicken sandwhich, burgers and pasta. All very good! My only complaint where I took off a star was the cleanliness of the inside. It looked like a great place on outside but a little dirty like a truck stop on the inside. Even had a very bad smell when we came in for supper. Nothing that made us turn the other way, but very unpleasant. But because of the great food and service we will be back, but will prefer to sit on deck again instead of inside.

The service was amazing. Our server was very friendly and the food tasty enough. I had the bison burger and it wasn’t quite as good as I was expecting, but still good. The day we were there, there were a lot of flies buzzing around the dining room. I took a shower that day, so I know it wasn’t me.

The hostess and waitress were friendly. The food was just ok. Buffalo steak was medium well at best and not med rare. It was chewy but the seasoning was flavorful. Salads came at the end of our meal. The place was not very busy but we waited almost an hour for our food. Not impressed. This was by far our worst dining experience in Hill City and I would steer clear for dinner at least.

The onions rings here are incredible! I got the bison burger, which was delicious as well. Service was great, the building was very clean. I ate here on vacation, but wish it was close to home. It will definitely be on my list of places to eat next time I’m in the black hills.

Food was DEE-LISH! The pancakes especially were great and I don’t usually care for pancakes. The service on the other hand, was a bit slow. Our server was in slo-mo, but another server we watched was very friendly, prompt, and did a nice job. I would go back because the food was really good!

Restaurant was short handed, took a long time to be seated and then the waitress took the order of the table who came in behind us. We witnessed at least 2 tables leave and 2 others who had never been seated. Had a chicken fry steak for 12.00 and there was no side salad included, it was a chicken fry and mashed potato. Spaghetti and meatballs was ok, but could use something to make it special. It was pretty ordinary. Hopefully this restaurant will get more help in the future so that the cook does not have to act as a waiter as well as a cook.

Horrible experience tonight. The waiter claims he was so busy with a big table but didn’t realize I saw him in the he parking lot with a girl while I stepped out to get something from the car and thus was super slow to get us service. After a long wait for food it was disgusting. Steak was over seasoned (too salty), they said they ran out of baked potatoes, chicken Alfredo seemed like the pasta was made in the morning and the chicken was microwaved, corn was most definitely out of a can (this was the vegetable of the day and I’m from Nebraska and I know corn well), ribeye steaks were thin and had twice the fat they should and the toast was cheap white bread with a small spot of butter on it. We politely complained and had 1 meal discounted ($10 off a $175.00 bill). They also included an automatic gratuity on our bill.
