This place is not like your usual restaurant where servers come to your table to take an order. You go to the front desk and order once you get in. However, the lady at the front desk was helpful. It was my first time there and she was patience and recommended meals to us. The Nachos was amazing. I also had burger . I will definitely go there whenever I am in Austin, Texas.

So I took a trip to Austin and discovered this gem. My mom and I had the pleasure of speaking with Claude and he definitely has earned this place some loyal customers. He put is on to the Austin Chronicle. The front cashier was super sweet and patient with helping us make our selections. (Sorry I can’t recall your name) I really wasn’t expecting the meat to be so tender and fall off the bone with the ribs. The fountain drinks were awesome as well. I chose the Prickly Pear juice. We could not leave without trying the TUPAC pudding! This place doesn’t disappoint. Continue to support this establishment!!

Delicious BBQ food! This is a great alternative to some of the other more popular BBQ places that may have excruciatingly long lines. Pictured is their brisket sandwich, mac and cheese, and baked beans. They also have fun and different sodas available at their soda machine. Would definitely recommend and come back again!!

I ordered through a delivery app twice. Both times the food has had an overwhelming smoky smell. That may be other people’s cup of tea but it so overpowering that nothing was actually enjoyable for me. I always give places more than one chance in case I had a fluke.

This place had much better food in its previous less fancy BBQ restaurant incarnation. I had naked St. Louis ribs and the meat was really fall off the bone tender, but without the sauce it had zero smoky or whatever flavor. The sauce and the beans were too sweet. Overall it was ok, but not an overly satisfying lunch.

The bbq here while not served in the traditional Texas way,but instead as sandwiches is super. The sides are also very good. If you come during lunch expect it to be busy, the line does move fast though.

I will literally move to Austin for this place. Everything is just perfect. Came right after opening and got the Chicken W.A. I thought about getting the double but the single ($7.60) was loaded with meat. The Dank White sauce shall be consumed by the spoonful. The mac and cheese is gooey and flavorful, and the noodles were not over done. The service is stellar too. There is not an aspect that they didn’t think about. The banana pudding is granny made for fourth of July delicious! The only time I want to pick between Tupac and Biggie is with the cookies here, they look so good and even have the eyes correct. Even the fountain drinks are amazing. I don’t typically do soda at restaurants, you get tires of Sierra mist but here the Drink Pink Drink (a prickly pear lemonade) is perfect with the BBQ. The potatosalad was good but my least favorite thing here, the onions threw off the taste buds, but my family just doesn’t make it that way, so maybe I need to expand my taste. Totally worth the stop! Take your time here, there are a lot of options to consider and art to view, don’t forget the napkins!

We always go out of our way to come to SLAB. We’ve never had anything but amazing food here. The BBQ nachos, BBQ salad (w/dank sauce), and the OG are some of our faves. You will not leave here hungry or unsatisfied! Anytime we have visitors from out of town we bring them here. Don’t forget the banana pudding!

1st class. Best Louisiana ribs I’ve had in Texas – Seriously good. Spicy sauce is decent too. M&C was a little too creamy for me, but still good with brisket. I’m coming back soon

Love the brisket, like meat candy melting in my mouth. Do get the Gouda Mac and cheese, sad when they’re out, or, the baked beans are sweet and tender. We get ours’ to go because of the dogs and it’s always busy with happy customers, we still get in and out quickly. They have sandwiches and sweet tea, too, and a bbq sauce selection (you’ll want to have each 2x).
