The best chowder I’ve EVER had…hands down. A complete 10/10, personable service and extremely fresh seafood. Will definitely suggest this place to everyone I know!

Stopped here on a whim on our way home from the Oregon Coast and based upon prior Google reviews. We were not disappointed, it was delicious and we will be back. If you get the Turkey Pesto sandwich (which I recommend) add bacon. You won’t regret it! Clam chowder was thick and full of clams Nice employees and locals for conversation

Small, clean, and welcoming. No items on the menu were not available as previously read. We had a lovely lunch today. Thank you for opening and providing an option out in the middle of nowhere. We will come again. Customer service was great. Fish, shrimp, and oysters were great. Clean oil used, and all items looked fresh. Good rootbeer float. My son had the apple juice but was not charged. Drive is worth it! Go! Go!

Skylar’s is my favorite American restaurant – actually. The food, the welcoming atmosphere, the effort put in by the new owners/managers is above and beyond. I won’t tell you about the fantastic homemade pies because I don’t want Skylar’s to run out before I get there.
With a mimosa, cheese burger, bowl of salad and homemade pie, my bill was under $30 including tax.

If you’re ever in Bay Center, Washington, make sure to stop by Skyler‘s restaurant. It’s an absolutely a little gem!. From the moment you walk in you’re greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service. The staff is very friendly and attentive, always making sure your needs are met.

We never ran out of a drinks. The food was simply outstanding whether you’re in the mood for a healthy meal or light bite. Skyler’s does not disappoint. Each dish was prepared with Care and packed with flavor making it clear they take pride in what they serve and let’s not forget the ice cold beer perfect for enjoying your meal or just relaxing after a long day.

Best fish and chips of my life. Fresh, crunchy, perfection, and a heaping serving of garlic fries with queso fresco. Best service ever from Bree! We can’t wait to come back. If you’re on the fence, it’s worth a 45 minute drive. This place is solid.

Stopped here on a drive around Willapa Bay. Had the Oyster BLT and the Shrimp basket for lunch. Just as described, the Oysters on the BLT were lightly breaded and fried – so tender and delicious! Served with steak fries with seasoned salt. The shrimp in the shrimp basket were also lightly breaded and fried. Also tender and delicious. Will definitely stop in again when we are in the area.

The outdoor seating, although dog friendly, needs a little sprucing up so you don’t feel like you are sitting in a gravel lot next to the restaurant.

Truly good on all fronts. We were checking out Bay Center today just for fun, because of its interesting location and small population, and we spotted this place. From the outside it kind of just looked more-or-less like any generic hole-in-the-wall, so my expectations for everything were set to “totally alright”. The interior is actually super well-maintained, and modernized where relevant (payment systems, bathrooms), cozy, and cute. The service was attentive, helpful, and nice, and everyone’s food looked and tasted of a noteworthy amount of love and care- delicious! And the prices are reasonable, so Skylar’s really blew us away- a must visit for anyone spending a day in Bay Center!

We went in, apparently on their first “official” day. There is lots of promise in this new fledgling restaurant. With some improvements, I hope to be able to give a 5 star rating.

First the good: the building is nicely finished and clean! If I remember correctly, the original was a bit divey and dumpy. This was clean, shiny and bright! Small, the capacity is (I think the sign said) 65 people. So it’s not big, but it’s laid out nice, and clean! We were greeted quickly by a kind waiter who informed us it was his first day. He did good for a first day. The menu is small, & heavy on the oysters, which isn’t surprising for the area. Unfortunately, I am not an oyster fan. But, there were plenty of other things to order. Luckily, we didn’t feel like eating fish and chips, because they had run out. So I am assuming their fish and chips must be good for that to have happened.

I went with the three tacos, having to choose three shrimp tacos cause they were out of fish as stated above and the other choice were oysters. lol! No problem. I like shrimp.
My husband got the shrimp po’boy and fries.

Here’s where some corrective criticism comes in. The wait time for food was far too long. We sat for about little over 30 minutes before we got our food. Granted, they were apologetic and knew it was too long. I’m not sure what the problem was, but they did make good on it by taking 15% off our bill. They didn’t need to do that, but we did appreciate it. I get it….they’re new and figuring it out. I have no doubt whatever the issue was, it’ll be improved upon. We appreciated the fact that the waiter and the other gal working (I am assuming the owner?) kept checking in and apologizing.

As far as the food: we ordered a bowl of chips and salsa to start. Nothing outstanding about them, except we were so hungry we snarfed them down pronto. The salsa tasted like it was out of a jar, not bad but not fresh homemade. (If I’m wrong I do apologize.) My husband said the shrimp po’boy was tasty. He just wished it was a bit bigger. It came on a smallish roll, cut in half with some steak fries. It did look like a small portion for a big fellow, and he left a bit hungry.
My tacos were ok. They came with fried, crispy shrimp layered with some slaw in corn tortillas. They were tasty, but, the slaw was overpowering the taste of the shrimp. I wished it had been the other way around. The slaw was very sweet. Not bad, but I felt like it was more a sweet slaw taco instead of a shrimp taco.
This review isn’t going to stop us from going again. I’d like to try their fish and chips and their burger. And we really want this little place to be successful cause it’s been far too long without any restaurants in our tiny little communities. (Nemah and Bay Center) So, I hope to be able to change this star rating to a 5 very soon!
