We had Dim sum, mixed roast (duck, crispy pork & char sui), fish & pickled cabbage soup and tofu in black bean sauce. Foods were lovely overall, but we have had better Dim sum and Roast duck.
It’s still one of the good option if you are looking for a chinese meal in Newcastle.

This restaurant is packed with Chinese people and can get very loud and busy. It just shows how authentic the food is.
If you prefer a more quiet day then Wednesday about 4 to 5 ish the best time, as it was literally empty on our second visit here.
The access is via a lift from the street or you can use the stairs. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the food was served quickly and hot and tasty.
Wheelchair accessible via lift to third floor, second floor is toilets. On the third floor the restaurant is to the right and straight through the doors. The table height is wheelchair friendly as you can sit right in. The atmosphere can get extremely loud with people talking loudly. Apart from that its a nice setting to enjoy the food and drinks. If you go before 5pm you can select the Dim Sum menu.

I’ve been looking for proper beef fried rice for a while now, and after trying several places, Sky Chinese came very close to being the best. I’d give their beef fried rice a solid 8 out of 10, it was so good I had to order it again.
Everything else I tried was also really good. On another takeaway order, I had the Deep Fried Chicken Wings, which were crispy and tasty. The King Prawns with Ginger and Spring Onion were full of flavour, I highly recommend them. The Beef in Black Pepper Sauce was also really nice, rich and well-balanced.
I also got the Plain Chow Mein and Egg Fried Rice, which were okay for the price.
Their service was alright, nothing special but efficient. Overall, I definitely recommend Sky Chinese and I’ll be ordering from them again.

They had a second menu with more authentic food.
I ordered Beijing duck with pancakes and it was hands down my favourite one outside of China and I’ve tried it in a lot of places.
The staff was very friendly and was happy to advise and refill our teapots with hot water.

A lunch special was very well priced and tasty. The place was packed on arriving, lots of families out for Sunday. Was a little chaotic due to the demand but overall a good experience.

I ordered from them today and most of the food was just okay. My gyoza had hair fried into the wrapper and was therefore inedible. Maybe avoid ordering from them, it seems better from other reviews to go in. I have given 4 stars in service and atmosphere because I didn’t visit in person so it felt unfair to rate these features 1 star as well.

This place is authentic Chinese but not for me. Looks nice on the photo, however. Meats were cold, dodgy fish in the special chow mein. Crispy prawn won tons were nice but everything else was bland, no texture. All tasted boiled, ribs were awful. Definitely wouldn’t go again

Came with friends for food as wake. Every dish we had was tasty and lovely, portion size great.
Didn’t wait too long for food, and service of staff was nice. Lamb hotpot was particularly good, roast duck, veg and fish balls etc. all very fresh and on point.
