Great restraunt, under new ownership as of, i believe, 2020. The inside is huge and well decorated. Must try the lemon drop! We started with the calamari which was amazing, and their tarter sauce is some of the best I’ve ever had. (We eat ALOT of seafood.) They also brought out these fried dough squares covered with powdered sugar and it was on the house! Very nice gal and her son running the place that day. Personable, friendly and helpful about the menu and made the best lemon drop drink. We went after 4pm, sorry no burgers after 4pm, but my husband got the braised short ribs with palente which I tried and was very very good (it doesnt look like alot of food but its very filling for even a grown man!) And I got the pasta dish linguini with tiger prawns and garlic bread, also very good. Must try this restraunt if your in Oakland. Highly reccomend.

We are so happy we stumbled upon this place! The whole experience was awesome! What a gem. They even had an outdoor patio so our pup could join us for brunch.
I absolutely loved the detail inside and out.
I ordered the brioche stuffed french toast (with cream cheese).. wow.. yum! The Bloody Mary was also delish. Loved the pickled asparagus. My man got the chicken and waffles and a mimosa. The chicken was the perfect texture mmm. Everything we ordered, hit the spot!
I wish that we lived closer. When we are back that way, we will definitely be back!

What has changed in Oakland? Tolly’s, in historic Oakland is now Skog’s, one of the newest happenings and worth the short side trip off of I-5 for a culinary experience at a fair price. There is more to enjoy then eating. The outdoor space is welcoming, covered, and beautiful. Tolly’s historic beauty and delightful décor is retained by the owners Vince and Katrina Gaeta. The menu- due to COVID restrictions- is limited, but varied. The quality of food is excellent and the long overdue revamping of Tolly’s is a blessing to weary I -5 corridor travelers who longed for its return.
The coffee by Illy’s was smooth and excellent. One of my favorites. My choice (a barometer of all things on a menu is the burger) was the Rogue Blue Bacon & Portabella Burger with sweet potato fires. Excellent, see photo for proof. I can’t wait until the inside is open. As many know it is eye candy sporting a historic soda fountain. The double barrel shotguns adorn the doors of Turkey Hall soon to open this April adjacent to Skog’s and another property of the Gaeta Family sporting a market theme. Can’t wait for this addition to Oakland, a soon to be destination day trip off of wearisome I-5.

My girlfriend and I were passing thru Oregon and just happened to stumble into Skog’s… and we’re so happy we did! We arrived at the same time as the owners who gave us a tour of the restaurant, bar and new concert/dance venue that they’re building in the back. What a cool place!
On top of everyone being extremely friendly, the food was absolutely outstanding. We started with some excellent homemade beignets and a mimosa. I had a work call so we hung out for a bit then had lunch.
I had the burger which they explained was locally sourced and never frozen. One of the best burgers I’ve had. My girlfriend had the chicken tenders– perfectly fried with a nice crisp and really juicy inside.
After lunch we had a couple of espresso shots with the Neapolitan cheesecake.. also top notch!
I’ll be recommending this place to everyone!!

Visiting my daughter in the area and found this charming and quality restaurant in Oakland. There may not be any restaurants from roseburg to oakland that are at this level. The owner introduced himself. A family operation. I went back 3 times for breakfast. Their beinets are amazing. Another day I had cream cheese pancakes with whipped cream. And their house made breakfast sausage was delicious.

We all know the place as something else so of course the building is beautiful. This place has a smaller menu with in my opinion good choices and a family run crew for hosting and seating. Not sure who runs the kitchen but whoever it is is a great chef. We went for a spur of the moment date outing and ended up at skoggs and it was a charming atmosphere with fresh flowers and lit candles. Very friendly young man sat us and was happy at our request to seat us in the bar area. We ordered a couple burgers (1 being vegetarian) and they were amazing! Fresh ingredients, cooked amazing, more gourmet than chain burgers and tasted absolutely amazing! The price wasn’t unreasonable and the food you get is vary tasty. I really liked the woman owner and the young son that sat us but the husband and I assumed other son kind of gave us a different feel. It wasn’t rude or anything just not as inviting and welcoming as them. It was just our impression and we have only been once and plan on going again so hopefully I will be wrong and will be writing a revision to this review! Don’t let my first experience detour you from going because you will be mad you didn’t eat the food there! It was a wonderful place to have our spur of the moment date outing!

WOW!! Absolutely delicious food. We had the Prime Rib, brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Everything was absolutely perfect. And the cheesecake, we had the Neapolitan, words cannot describe how absolutely, perfectly delicious it was. And the service, top notch!! The owner came to the table to check on us. It was our first time and we will definitely be coming back again.

I fell in love with this place! This beautiful historic building is centrally located in Oakland. The lovely vintage decor throughout the space is welcoming and eye catching. Friendly service and exceptional food! This restaurant also offers a gorgeous bar and outside patio with a koi pond. This is my new favorite place to go on the weekends!

Meal starts of with homemade beignets as the appetizer. Absolutely a nice touch, those are tasty treats. My wife ordered the Mannys chicken sandwich. We had to split it and we both agree it was the best chicken sandwich we have eaten ever! I ordered the Skogs cheeseburger and it didn’t disappoint. Big 1/2 burger on a perfect toasted bun. We had both had sweet potato fries with homemade ketchup. What I very much enjoyed is that it was at a fair price. You must try Skogs in the old Tolly’s building. We are going back every week.
