Let me start by just saying I’ve been coming here for years with my parents and friends. I came here for a special occasion, and the service was terrible. I then called the manager and she was very sweet and encouraged us to come back in to make it right. We returned only to have to wait 40 minutes for our dinner when the restaurant wasn’t busy. When we mentioned it our server had an attitude. Ribeye was fatty for $55. Lake perfect was bland. It’s just unfortunate that this place held such a special place for me and now I will not be returning.

Came to Michigan for our anniversary and wanted some good prime rib… this place did NOT disappoint! My husband got the house cut and I got barbs cut and a cluster of snow crabs. Meat was so tender, cooked to perfection, and the flavor was out of this world! Service was amazing and the atmosphere was too! Thank you Skips for giving us a perfect anniversary meal, if we’re ever back in the area we will definitely be back!

Skip’s, a decades old gastronomic favorite tradition, looms like a temple of indulgence for the famished and the brave. This isn’t a restaurant; it’s a feast for the senses, a Dionysian celebration of excess where the portions are as generous as the tales of a seasoned fisherman.
The prime rib, oh the prime rib! It’s not just meat; it’s a carnivorous epiphany, cooked to such perfection it could make a grown man weep with joy. Each bite, a transcendental experience, a journey to the zenith of beef mastery.
Servers glide through the chaos with the grace of ballet dancers, their politeness a soothing balm in the frenetic temple of feasting, guiding you through a culinary odyssey.
Pricey? Sure, in the same way that a Picasso is just a painting. But worth every penny? Absolutely. It’s like investing in a stock that only goes up.
In the grand casino of dining, Skip’s is the high roller’s table, where the stakes are high, and the rewards are unparalleled. Dining here isn’t just eating; it’s an act of hedonistic rebellion against the ordinary, a plunge into a world where flavor reigns supreme.

Nice environment, met up with some family here for dinner and we had a wonderful time. Food was decent, I had the Steakburger but it wasn’t as flavorful as I expected and a bit dry. Those who had the soups, filet mignon, and serf and turf had good experiences. If I have the change to go back I sure will

First time here, came for Valentines day dinner because i saw the fools who left this place a 4.6/5 ☆. Wouldnt recommend. Food was mid. Service was bad. They were out of the prime rib, the ribeye, and the mozzarella sticks. Just all around not a good place for the price.

Such a nice restaurant, located on Red Arrow Highway in New Buffalo Michigan. Staff is extremely friendly, food was delicious. Hubby had chicken parmesan, I had the filet with a side of balsamic Brussels. Both entrees we’re delicious, I wish I had room for dessert, really wanted to try the cheesecake but that will have to wait for another time. We will definitely be back.

Our waitress was great. Super friendly and attentive. Appetizers were good. Lobster was way overcooked and ribeye was not very good. For $100 surf and turf, main course should have been a lot better.

We’ve been here 3 times. The first 2 times, EXCELLENT! We couldn’t wait to come back, we are from Chicago so unfortunately we don’t get a chance to drive out very often. Our 3rd visit today, very disappointed! My steak was medium well when I ordered it medium. By the time the waitress came back to ask how everything was, we were already halfway into our meal. Although she did say she would take my steak back, way too late. My water glass sat empty on our table our entire meal. Oh well, in the words of Meatloaf…..2 out of 3 ain’t bad….I GUESS!

April and her staff were unbelievable. Wife and I went there for the 1st time for our 22nd anniversary. April helped make the night perfect. She had staff run out to our car and grab my wife’s flowers and card (wife has no idea), and set them before we were at the table. We got sat and my wife was blown away. Food was good, but that Key Lime pie was out of this world.
Appreciate you and staff, Scott and Annie
