Simple menu, hotdog, hamburgers, chicken breast sandwich, and tenders vibe. Old school feel inside, love the Jordan posters, restroom outside of the building. Hamburger alone is $11.29, it’s a good burger. You may not get full off of it and order a hotdog to go with it Which could be around $25 with tax and tip. The place was very clean and the service was great. The food time was fair. Plenty of places to sit and eat with a TV to watch the game. The bulldog is a thick hot dog. The slaw and chili was fair. I prefer fresh cut and breaded onion rings instead of those “From frozen” onion rings that are mostly breading and leave an oily back taste. I could eat here again, but it didn’t scream one of a kind. The place definitely has a lot of history. Chicken sandwich was tasty. I’d def get it again.

For starters, I LOVED that this incredible spot has John 3:16 on their menu. I was so impressed that they would be willing to take such a bold stand that I was taking a picture of the menu when a gentleman from the back kitchen saw me doing so and assumed I couldn’t see the sign very well so he ran out in the lobby, and grabbed me a menu and brought it to me with a smile!
The environment was so family oriented. A family had come for dinner in front of us straight from the ballet and their two precious daughters were dancing around while the mother who was from Chicago was absolutely losing it over how authentic the restaurant was. I am so happy we decided to stop in. The food was phenomenal. My husband had a sausage and onion and I had their traditional sausage dog, both of which were perfect in my opinion!
We’re currently doing low carb so this visit. I did not enjoy the bread, onion rings or the milkshakes but maybe on a future visit I’ll get to try those out.
We parked around back and could see that they also have a catering service, so that would be a very cool option if you need catering!

This is one of the best old school hot dog joints around! I’ve been going here since it opened! (I think) The owner is from Chicago so he knows what he is doing and if I’m wrong he’s done a great job doing is all! I typically get the jumbo dog, it has a nice snap to it when I bite into it, and I love the bright green relish! They know how to cook fries unlike so many places these days. The burgers and everything else I’ve ever had here has been great but who cares! This is a dog joint!

As a Chicagoland transport, I will always recommend Skips to my friends and family. Skips is not just authentic in food, but also in experience. They remind me of the small local businesses I grew up on, that would remember your name and treat you like family.
When I went through their drive thru with tears in my eyes because my husband had just lost a friend, they gave us some treats on the house and then checked on us after every visit. We have been loyal to Skips for 5 years and that’s not changing anytime soon.

Yall. I am born and raised from this area. My mom is born and raised from this area. She was 7 years old living in this neighborhood when they built this establishment. My mom and I enjoyed a delicious and affordable lunch at Skip’s today just before 2025 ended. And SKIPS did not disappoint! I am beyond grateful for the service I received and it’s just so community oriented in here! The decor is really cool and having taken my first trip to Chicago earlier this year and trying an Italian beef I was like whaaaatttt they have Italian beef at the Skip’s hotdogs I’ve driven past alllllllll my life because I personally don’t eat hotdogs. But they have more than just hotdogs and sausages y’all! There are JUICY looking burgers, onion rings, milkshakes, chicken tenders, Philly cheese steaks, SALADS, GYROS, vegetarian hotdogs and black bean burgers! I even saw Pizza Puff on there!!!
Anyways my mom and I both know what we came for. The Italian beef sandwiches which Skips imports straight from Chicago! And yep! It was the McCoy y’all! Yes I’m really born and raised right here lol. My waiter was soooooo cool too yall!! BIG SHOUT OUT TO STANLEY!!! He was so kind and patient and hospitable! God bless him truly. Bless that good man! He also came around the restaurant tidying up and connecting with the guests! A great guy to have here! He checked in with us and even brought us to go boxes when he discerned we were quite full indeed! Neither me or my mom finished our Italian beef sandwiches lol anyways here are the photos below!
I got the mixed peppers added to mine which is hot pepper mix they use in Chicago and the grilled bell peppers and onions. Super good. I would have liked my bell pepper cooked a little longer but that’s my personal preference lol I’m like that! It was really good either way and they have integrity here you can tell! So stop driving by or thinking about it and stop by and if you see Stanley tell him I said he’s grrreeeatttt!! And there was another gentleman who prepared my sandwich he was cool when I walked up and received my meal as well! Super friendly staff! Thanks for making our first time here great y’all. And nope. No one asked me to write any of this. At all. I’m just sitting here stomach and heart both full. They ALSO have a drive thru! Had no idea!

We ordered towards closing. I got the Philly cheesesteaks and the order came out fast. My friend ordered a corn dog and fries. Good price for the food. Honey mustard was good with the fries. We sat and ate at the diner booth and left at closing. Staff were nice.

Amazing spot! Skip’s has the best burgers, hot dogs, shakes, fries, and onion rings in the Atlanta metro. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Generous portions, great prices, and a true local gem. Highly recommend!

Usually enjoyed ordering food from there but the last visit was truly disappointing and may never go there again. I ordered an Italian Combo sandwich (beef & sausage) to go and when I got home, saw that the sandwich was half the beef, not even a full sausage and double the bread! Wow! Prices have increased but food quality has decreased. Very disappointed

Over priced they gave market price on there hot dogs likes it’s lobster the food is mediocre at best hot dog didn’t have any Chicago soul in it. Honestly very disappointed. People really don’t know what a Chicago dog suppose to taste like. If you’re from the windy city this spot is ok honestly. Very overhyped but if you want some good hot dogs portillos is opening up in the Atlanta area but I wouldn’t eat at Skip’s again. Clean and nice awesome venue but food didn’t fit the venue cause it wasn’t good

My husband is from the Chi, I’ve been there. We currently live in Alabama. Skips gyro is the worst gyro we have ever had. We spent $50+ on gyro, 2 italian beef, polish, chi hotdog, 3 pizza puffs. The gyro meat itself had no seasoning. The taziki sauce was way off. We’ve had better gyros in Birmingham. The hot dogs looked like Chicago dogs but did not taste like it. The meat they use is not the original Vienna sausage or hotdog like in the Chi according to my husband. I thought they were ok. The pizza puff was good. The Italian was descent but nothing like the one I had in the Chi. I feel like this restaurant was a disrespect to real Chicago taste. Skip needs to visit the Chi and take his cooking crew with him.
On a positive note, they do have great southern customer service/hospitality.
