The food was tasty and the service good, but the prices are way too high for what you get. I had the shepherd’s pie and enjoyed it but it was not much for $22. Would have felt better if it came with a side salad or something. My husband’s meal was egregious though. Grilled cheese and soup for $17, and it was a small, basic grilled cheese with a tiny ramekin of soup. He said it felt like a kid’s meal, and was still quite hungry after finishing. It’s a nice place, but I hope they either adjust prices or give you more at the current price.

Big ups to Trey and the staff for bringing forward a fantastic neighborhood bar and patio. The happy hour deals are fire considering how good the oysters and chicken tenders are. Liquor and beer selection is solid and drinks come out well portioned. We intend to make use of either the upstairs or downstairs event space which look well equipped to give groups from 20-100 a quasi-speakeasy vibe, exactly what we like. Looking forward to remaining regulars here!

I’m writing this review as I eat my last cicken tender left over from last night. My husband and I went to Skips for the first time to watch a football game. We went for a few drinks and an appy and had so much fun! The chicken tenders were some of the best I’ve ever had in DC in a longgg time. Also, if you like ranch, theirs is quality. Creamy, bright, and fresh. It tastes like it was made with love and not dumped from a Hidden Valley bottle. (As a born and raised Midwesterner, I feel this is critical to call out.) What really sold me on this place, though, was its drink menu. Too many sports bars only center their beverages around the beer selection. But the drink menu at Skips feels like it was designed for everyone. I’m obsessed with their “Rose All Day” option where you can get a glass of rose or vinho verde for $5 a glass (yes, that’s the regular price, not just a hh special). I can’t wait to bring my friends as the weather cools so we can sit on their patio for a little apres ski (sans ski) and split wine bottles. Aside from their wine, they also offer $8 martinis and a great selection of other cocktails, as well as a seltzer and cider plus a rotating option. I’d be remiss if I didn’t shout out the staff- they were so friendly and attentive and made the experience even better. I cannot wait to go back for another game or just gab with the girlies. Thank you, Skips!

Y’know, I might have only got a grilled cheese and a cider, but the Austin cider was delicious the tomato soup with the sandwich was awesome and Trey was a great server/bartender. I’ll be back.

Great place for fun, food, and drinks. Inside seating, and outside weather permitting. Of course it’s on upper Connecticut Avenue, N.W., so some street noise but you may be able to snag a parking spot out front. Fair amount of shopping in the area. Many of the shops and restaurants are neighborhoods staples, been here for ages.

Everything was excellent, we got a caesar salad, cheeseburger with bacon, petite filet and sautéed mushrooms. Cranberry juice and cosmo were both very good as well.

I was excited about a new restaurant that I thought the kids would like but I don’t plan on returning, mostly because the food fell flat. I got the pork sandwich and the pork was dry and really salty, and the sandwich was dripping from the sauce which made it hard to eat. The oysters didn’t have much flavor. The kids hamburger was also bland but the fries were really salty. The service was good – the staff was really friendly and helpful. The experience wasn’t helped by the group of middle aged guys there after what seemed a round of golf loudly swearing the whole time.
