We went on a Sunday and they had a live 2-man band, they were really good and made it a fun atmosphere. We sat on the deck, which was nice (it’s not on the water tho fyi). The steamed crabs were yummy. We also had rockfish fingers, cream of crab soup, and crab dip. The soup didn’t have enough crab, I feel, and the dip and fish were decent but not amazing.

We came here on the recommendation of a regular customer. There were a group of us, some from out of town for a conference. We left an event at the Marina and decided to dine here in the evening. They were out of crabs and oysters which no biggie. One of the girls was smart enough to place an order earlier in the day so I did get two crabs. They were well seasoned and very meaty. The problem comes in with my food. Myself and another girl ordered the crab boil (attached) she ate hers and I ate one of my shrimp. I added some Old Bay but the shrimp tasted over cooked and there was hardly any seasoning. We asked the waitress if it could be sent back and she said she would get the manager. A young girl comes over and asked “What’s the problem?” I say these crab boils don’t really have any seasoning. She said that she could bring me some seasoning. At that point we asked for her manager. Her manager was a heavy set lady also with an attitude. And she said that the food had been cooked to “their standards” and they would not do any refunds. We asked her where it was written she said on the menu. The menu mentioned something about drinks but not about food. One of my colleagues asked the manager if she would eat that? Her response was “I don’t eat a lot of seafood like that.” She also offered to bring me some seasoning. But I was never offered to have my food replaced or refunded. What I believe she saw was a group of black people at an all white establishment and assumed that we were just some black people trying to get over again. What she didn’t know was we were a group of 6 figure earners that sell life insurance and we are a very successful in our industry. You never know who you might be serving. We told her that because of this she cost her waitress her tip. The manager said “That’s ok I’ll make it up.” That young lady could have easily had $150 tip between the 10 of us at that table which we would have gladly done if we would have been treated with the same respect as anyone that came into that establishment and asked for their meal to be returned. If it wasn’t proof enough that I wasn’t trying to “get over” is I left the entire boil sitting right on that table. I paid $30 something, just to leave my food there and not eat it? I hope someone reads this and is disheartened by this treatment that we received just because we were profiled based on who they thought we were.

Atmosphere is good, entertainment was good, drinks were good, the view was beautiful, and the staff was friendly. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. I would go there for drinks but eat before you get there.

We stumbled upon Skipjack’s by accident, and we’re so glad we did. We’ve been there twice now and both times we’ve received amazing food, outstanding service, and the prices are reasonable. My wife and I love it and we will be back many more times!

It was one of our favorite restaurants. But recently, service is poor. We ordered crab and a corn. And corn was unripe and told server about it. She said she’ll bring another corn, but she disappeared and we didn’t get any corn. But they charged 2 corns. Also, it took long time to get bill or asking water. Luckily this time we got there early, and at least we could order. But last time we had to wait so long to order. Other tables wait almost 20 minutes to their order too. After we’ve had those experiences last a couple of times. Sadly we may not visit this restaurant anymore.

OMG, the crabs were exquisite!! We had large and jumbo, the 1/2 crab soup came in a bowl the size of a platter. I was very impressed with the cost, portion size and customer service.
