This was my first time returning to Skipjack in 10 years. It’s a good sign that it must be doing well if it’s still here. We wanted to sit at the bar, which was pretty crowded, but we were able to get seats. Shelby, the bartender, was friendly, and we started with crispy Brussels sprouts, which were tasty with a chipotle dipping sauce. We also ordered the pork tenderloin and a grouper special served on grilled watermelon, which of course, I had to try. The food was creative, original, and delicious. We definitely want to try the brunch menu.

Yo! Went to trivia night, great game, even better food. Ordered mostly small shareable plates, but standouts were the Shrimp and pasta appetizer and the Mediterranean skillet. Abby may be the most helpful host in the industry. Our server was Tim, who certainly earned his dough that night. So many diners. Man was busy but thorough and smart enough to suggest we take an Uber home. Thanks Tim.

Excellent food….. ridiculous crabcakes!!
Fist sized, no fillers… my wife got perfectly cooked salmon, my sister in law had the cheesesteak…. it was very good and good sized too!!
Our server, Ryleigh, was fantastic… took great care to make sure everyone was happy…. and there were 7 of us!
Definitely coming back!!!

First time here. Food was delicious. They cook my steak to my liking, which is not very common. Food took a while to come out though. Not sure why, they were busy at all. Our server was nice and friendly but she filled up water for one person and forgot the rest. All in all a pleasant experience.
Update: I forgot to say that it was my son’s birthday and we brought a cake with us. At the end of dinner, we ask to see if they can cut the cake for us but was told that we will be charged a service fee for that, a per person fee. So we asked that if we can just have some plates and we’ll cut the cake ourselves. We were told that there is a “plating” fee, per plate fee. I think this is ridiculous, if you ask me.

Was in the neighborhood for the afternoon only, never been here before. I went solely on the reviews for this restaurant. And they are 100% correct.

I got the crab cake entree…other reviewers on here say it’s full of crab meat, which is true, but they forgot to mention that it is filled with HUGE delicious chunks of crab meat.

So hard to find good crab cakes these days. I hope I pass through here again I will definitely be coming back.

And the wait staff was excellent as well…. very attentive and very nice.

Skipjack Dining offers great food and excellent service every time we’ve visited. There’s always something special or unique on the menu that makes it feel a step above the usual dinner spot. Highly recommend.

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time recently and were very happy with our experience. The meal was fresh and delicious, from appetizer to dessert, drinks and coffee as well. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. We really liked the quiet, casual ambience and can’t wait to return for another scrumptious meal.

Great food, it felt like a family atmosphere. Very clean. Drinks were great I had a jolly rancher. Julia was a remarkable waitress, very attentive with a warm smile. Will definitely be back. I had the short rib n Brie n apple appetizer.

Came for the happy hour specials but it wasn’t offered in the main dining room even though menu and web page didn’t specify. In addition our service was extremely slow. Had to go to bar to get our own drinks and move to a noisy bar to get happy hour specials.

Went for dinner after a date day at Winterthur. It was only a 20 min drive or so. The dining room is very elegant and nicely decorated with the marine theme… linen on the tables and cloth napkins. (Also eco-friendly.) We walked in at 6 pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Food came out very quickly, so quickly that she told us to let us know when we were ready for our entrees bc she didn’t want to bombard us.

We got turnip and parsnip bisque (SO delicious), and for appetizers the Brussels sprouts and calamari. I typically don’t like marinara on my calamari, but I have absolutely no notes on the calamari (and I’m admittedly a bit of a calamari snob). My husband got the sirloin and I got the roast chicken. The sirloin was actually cooked rare, and it was done incredibly well (just not well done). Everything was positively delicious and amazing. At first, we thought the portion size for dinner was kinda small, but honestly it was just the right size, and I didn’t even finish all of my risotto.

The only thing I was sad about… they were out of the crème brûlée, and it was the only dessert either of us wanted.

The menu isn’t extensive, but I always think of what Gordon Ramsay would say in that restaurant show… “Jack of all trades, master of none.” It’s not a bloated menu, and the quality of the food shows.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I want garbage, mediocre, American diner food. This place is NOT that, and it won’t break the bank. (Only $100 for two people with two entrees, two appetizers AND soup, and WAYYYY better quality than any chain restaurant.) Next time, I probably won’t wear jeans and a hoodie though, heh.
