It all began on January 27, 1958. With $50 in the cash register, Del and Helen Johnson opened “Sizzler Family Steak House” in in Culver City, California. This was the place where everyone could enjoy a great steak dinner at an affordable price. Today, we strive to serve the best hand-cut steaks at the most affordable price for the whole family with the addition of a broad, all-American menu and an abundance of fresh and healthy options. Sizzler is the restaurant where America comes to satisfy its appetite with U.S.D.A. Choice steaks cut fresh daily and cooked over an open flame, fresh seafood, and premium craft soup and salads prepared fresh daily.

Not worth the $ – we both ordered steak and all-you-can-eat shrimp dinners, 2 sodas, and 1 salad bar. The total was $57.86. The salad bar was OK but not full or appetizing. None the less, I grab some salad and say down. The server was fine but only stopped at the table out of necessity and not to it check on anything. Our steaks came out dead… As you’ll see on the receipt, we ask for medium rare (understanding that place over cook alot of times). These steaks were WELL over cooked – even from a well done standpoint. We didn’t see the server again so my husband ate some of his and I left mine after 1 bite. The shrimp that were served with the steak were cold and gross. After having a few of them, the server did come back to see if we wanted more (my drink glass was on the edge of the table empty as well). The shrimp that were provided as the refill were 100% better! That’s really the only thing I ate we’re a few refill plates of shrimp as these were actually hot. The server saw my steak uneaten and ask about it and disappeared before I could say anything. This seems to be a chain issue as this isn’t the first sizzler that we’ve had these steak issues with. Not coming back.

I have always loved Sizzler, especially their steak and Malibu chicken. Normally it is fantastic, but this time the steak was mostly gristle and the Malibu chicken was burnt and quite crispy. I’m hoping the next time I visit the food quality will improve.

The food does not disappoint. Fresh and tasty! Our server seemed annoyed when she came about asking if we needed anything. Not sure if she was having a bad day or what. Then we had to wait 15 or so minutes for them to get the kid pizza dish. They missed it when they brought the rest of our food. Luckily we had the salad bar so our son was able to eat while we waited for the pizza. I hope the service picks back up to where it used to be for all servers instead of a couple out of all.

It was a fun experience having the salad bar. Don’t usually get things like that. The salad bar seemed a little bit pricey for salad . But it was still yummy. The salad bar is enough on its own. The restaurant was clean and the staff was kind. We hardly saw our server. To refresh beverages and take plates. When she did come around she was nice. Maybe she had a lot of tables.

We love Sizzler. We’ve had great food, service & full tummies. But this particular time we had the best waitress ever. Our drinks always gad new fresh one before we even noticed we needed one. She had our food out fast & always was checking on us. She remembered everything asked to bring or change. Sizzles gets a bad rap on is seen as low class. We can afford to eat at other steak houses but choose Sizzler always having the best service, food & prices. I’ve got 4 boys so this is our #1 place for steak.
