I’ve been through twice now. The staff was very helpful & friendly. The first time I was passing through for work and I placed my order for carry out. My Reuben & onion rings were hot and ready when I arrived!
I passed through again and had a little more time on my hands so I went inside to eat. Chicken fried steak and fries were great! The fries were nice and crispy on the outside but soft in the middle. Done perfectly!
The chicken fried steak was cooked nicely with a light crunchy batter covered with tasty country gravy! I’m still full but I’d do it again!!!

A classic diner type. While the atmosphere and speed of service is hit or miss they make up for in character and fantastic food froms scratch, and excellent pies. Always friendly and put forth their best! Typically short staffed for the volume of customers that thoroughly enjoy everything it has to offer. Massive portions. One of my go-to cravings for comfort food.

Went inside this cute little unassuming house/cafe and was greeted by the waitress, Carmen. She was very friendly and helpful. Talked with her for a bit, she answered all our questions and was very informative about the menue. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries, my husband ordered the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and gravy with peas. We also ordered the fried cauliflower as an appetizer.
The food came out, and as you will see by the pictures, all home made. I have to say, it was the best burger I have had in a very long time! We both enjoyed our meal very much! If you are traveling down highway 75, just outside of Dawson, you must stop and give them a try! You will not leave hungry or disappointed!! Thank you 6 Mile Cafe for a wonderful lunch!!

In the middle of nowhere, in a house, converted to a diner. Just happened by, and decided to stop. Nothing fancy, but huge portions of delicious food, at very reasonable prices. Hidden gem.

Stopped for lunch while driving through Dawson. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you. The interior is cozy and the staff was very welcoming. My husband and I ordered the chicken fried steak and Salisbury steak meals. Portions were very generous. The food was delicious! The pie selection was amazing. Couldn’t leave without trying a piece of the strawberry rhubarb and dutch apple pies. ❤️❤️❤️

We usually stop by here each year the second week of September for the family reunion. The food has always been delicious…until this year. The onion rings were flat out gross and soggy, there was more grease than actual food. The burger tasted like something you’d get off the cafeteria line at the hospital. The quality of food has certainly gone down hill. Spent $47 on three meals. It was a giant waste of money and a true disappointment. If you’re going to eat in the area during fair time, you’d be better off going to the Arbor Manor in Auburn or going to Sonic in Auburn. Safe your money and your stomach by avoiding these menu items.

This restaurant has a small town feel that is big where it counts: service, friendliness and food. Portions are large and VERY good. We had pork tenderloin sandwich, salad, Philly cheesesteak sandwich, fish, fries, onion rings, fried mushrooms, sugar free German chocolate pie and strawberry rhubarb pie and everything was outstanding. The pork tenderloin was so big the bun seemed like a decoration! The onions rings were to die for. And, folks, they have SUGAR FREE PIE! Anita took very good care of us. If you have a few mins and are hungry, don’t pass up this unassuming restaurant – You’ll be glad you stopped!

After reading reviews on how great this place was we had to check it out. Showing up waiting to be seated we were greeted “can I help you with something??” As if we were being a nuisance. When we asked if we could get a table for 2 we were looked at as if we asked we were mental. I ordered the tenderloin sandwich and it was a surprise and looked great. After digging in realizing the food had absolutely zero seasoning. Place could be way better with a touch of salt and pepper on food.
