I wasn’t sure if it was just for resort guests or if locals could come too, so I asked—and turns out, I could! It’s $10 per person.
I was absolutely blown away when I went upstairs—the architecture, paintings, and black lights at night bring the space to life. They even have an outdoor area with fire pits lit up. This is such a hidden gem for local Alaskans! Sometimes, it’s hard to find great bands and live music in the area, so driving an hour down to Girdwood is totally worth it.
The staff was awesome, the beer was great, and the sound and acoustics were on point. All in all, an amazing experience—I highly recommend it!
It was a slow time, so was able to seat ourselves and order at the bar. Once it’s ready, they’ll bring your food to the table. Ordered a few drinks while looking at the menu. Bar service was very friendly and prompt. For the meal, ordered the Sitz Burger and Buddha Bowl. Food came out fresh in about 15 minute. Food was pretty impressive for a bar and grill. Both were perfectly put together, well-plated, and tasted great.
Great place to come for lunch in Alyeska. It was nice viewing the mountain over good food and drinks.
I know I have countless time since 1970.
Does any one remeber World Cup 1973.
It was amazing. I remember as a 13 year old cars parked all tge way to merchant both sides when daylong was only parking lot.

A good place to eat when you are in the area.
As someone who has been a regular at Sitzmark in Girdwood for over a decade, it pains me to witness the decline in quality following the introduction of new management. My recent visit during the Christmas holiday weekend was a stark reminder of how much has changed – and not for the better.
The Sitzmark has always been known for its lively ambiance and satisfying comfort food, making it a beloved spot among both locals and tourists. In the past, ordering Nachos was a no-brainer. They were a crowd-pleaser, generously portioned and topped with a hearty serving of meat. However, this time, the nachos were a shadow of their former glory. The portion was meager, barely enough chips to be considered a meal, and, to my disappointment, they came without any meat. It’s disheartening to see such a popular item reduced to this state.
The wings I ordered were tasty but not immune to the changes. They were noticeably overpriced compared to previous years. While I appreciate good quality food, the cost did not seem justified, especially considering the overall decline in the dining experience.
Another letdown was the cranberry juice, which was unmistakably watered down. It’s small details like this that contribute to the overall dining experience, and it was disheartening to find even simple beverages compromised.
The Sitzmark holds a special place in the hearts of many Alaskans and visitors to our beautiful state. It’s been a staple for good food, great company, and memorable moments. Unfortunately, the new management seems to be steering away from what made the Sitzmark a cherished establishment. The hike in prices, coupled with the downturn in food quality, is a troubling trend.
I sincerely hope that the management reconsiders their current approach. The Sitzmark is more than just a restaurant; it’s a part of our community’s fabric, a place where memories are made. It’s disheartening to see it lose its charm and appeal. As a long-time patron, I can’t help but feel that the new management is alienating its core customers, and I hope they take this feedback to heart to restore the Sitzmark to its former glory.
