AWESOME food and atmosphere at this Ballard “Lebenese-Mexican” restaurant and bar. The meat and vegetarian options are all fantastic. The brown butter beef nachos are… Michelin star worthy, which I did not expect, of all the things we ordered.. which included all three tacos, both taquito types, a burrito, and the nachos. All was great, but the house made tortilla chips are fried and crisp to perfection. Staff is a bit terse but ultimately helpful and efficient. Food does not take long to come.

I am from Texas and grew up eating a ton of Mexican food. I can’t say much, but this food tastes pretty normal to me. I ordered the chicken taquitos. I thought that was a good comparison to Texas. They came out quickly and they were hot. They added a dab of guacamole on top with grated cheese and lettuce. That was pretty close to Texas. They give you this weird dipping sauce that is nasty. It tastes like something I would get at a bad Chinese restaurant. Keep it simple. A good salsa or pico de gallo. The cool environment and the wait staff are nice. It’s a great place if you’re drunk and need some greasy food. It’s expensive. $25 for 5 taquitos and a lemonade. I understand it’s pricey to have a spot in the middle of Ballad. I wish them the best.

I ordered the two taco rice and beans combo meal. The tacos I tried were the spicy cauliflower and papas (potato/cheese). I can’t stop thinking about the papas and would definitely order two of these next time.
If you want fun bar vibes walk down the fun pink hallway and you’ll find this treasure.

Always friendly service and delicious food at this quirky place. The Mexican-Lebanese fusion menu is limited but so flavorful. The guac servings are tiny and be unexpectedly spicy, but everything else is amazing. Great options for people who are gluten free, vegetarian, and have nut allergies. The staff are all super nice. One of the best spots in Ballard!

Vegan spicy cauliflower tacos are so good!! The slaw side that comes with them is also vegan and delicious.
They typically have two rotating soups on offer, with one that can be vegan (often default is vegetarian with like a dollop of yogurt on top). The first time I got the soup it was too spicy for me, so the next time I asked how hot it was and they were very helpful in gauging it! It was like a curry lentil and the right level of spice for me.

They have a burrito special on weekdays! Haven’t tried that yet bc I like the tacos a lot. They’re deep-fried and I can’t get them elsewhere (there are toothpicks in the tacos, take them out before eating them, it’s obvious and not a big deal)

The people who work there are great! I love the colorful decor, and the back bar has fun lights and louder music if that’s your vibe.

There’s a interesting kind of taco here – a taco that’s deep fried and closed up with toothpicks is not something I’ve seen before.
How does it taste?

It’s solid. I don’t think it was mindblowing or anything, but the frying does make the outside very crispy – especially the outer edges. It’s very satisfying to bite into.
The downside is that when you fry a taco like this, you don’t leave room for any of hte traditional fillings inside the taco. Like you can’t use onions, vegetables, or salsa within the taco itself – it’s limited to just meat. There is salsa on the side, but having it inside the taco feels different

On the positive side though, this is absolutely packed with meat. For the relative size of the taco, I don’t think I’ve seen one with a higher beef ratio than this one. Every bite is just filled with well-browned, nicely fatty beef that tastes great.
Although like I mentioned, with every bite being the same, it does feel a little bit old. I’m glad I only got one because I definitely could not do more of the same kind of taco.

For the price of $4.50/individual taco, it’s on the expensive side for a single one, but considering the uniqueness and amount of meat I’m fine with the price.

Overall, I appreciate the ingenuity on display, and it certainly makes for a different experience, but I think I prefer a regular taco a little bit more. 7.5/10

After seeing that it was highly recommended based on a recent review and best of list, I made it a point to stop in. While good there were a few things that left me disappointed

Good: Food was delivered very quickly after ordering. Good amount of outdoor seating in front which is awesome on days when the farmers market is running. Taco options are creative with lots of options for vegetarians and vegans

Bad: Unfortunately the portions are way too small and quality is way too basic for the price. The tacos are about half as small for $1-2 more as other taco places in the same area and the options while creative and tasty, arent anything special.

It was a bit packed but we were able to snag a table. The nachos had crispy chips, lots of cheese, tasty guacamole and well seasoned meat (hushwe). The horchata was tasty.
The atmosphere was great, and don’t forget to take out the freaking picks

BEST POZOLE I’VE EVER HAD!!!
The vibe in this place was unexpected and fun. Disco ball decor, pink glitter painted bathrooms, and mirrored walls. The back bar feels invite only, but the food is the real show stopper. Ordered to-go. The taquitos? The fresh guac was turning and these mofos were still crispy. The bean bowl? Haven’t gotten to it yet. This pozole rojo is the best I’ve ever had. Perfect heat, layered flavors, tender meat & chickpeas, and a rich broth that truly makes it. Soups are rotating, so if you see it on the menu, do yourself a favor. It’s worth it.

Service was also great, and super quick! Can’t recommend enough.

I’m getting hungry just sitting to write this review because WOW the food was fantastic. We ordered: beef nachos, beef and potato taquitos, and Hungarian mushroom soup. I’m Mexican, and these taquitos brought me back to family cooking from my childhood. The soup was extremely flavorful and unique– I have never tasted a soup like this (in the best way). The nachos were incredibly loaded and craveable. Will come here again and again.
