Decent food but service needs improvement.

While there was no wait time to be seated during evening rush hour, but no one comes to take order for a long time. They didn’t serve us water until we asked. They don’t serve the plates instead hand it over to you and you distribute within your group.

Coming to the food,
Crispy corn chatpata – Very good and crispy. Not oily.
Medu Vada – Decent size and crispy. Though it takes a long time to get it. Maybe since they make it on order. We have always ordered 3 in 1 medu vada and it always comes at the end of the meal.
Chutneys are excellent, with 6 different chutneys.
Poori Aloo – Decent nothing special. But we felt poori had lot of residual oil sticking to the paper and on our fingers.
Fresh lime soda – good
Mango lassi – pre-packaged in plastic bottle and generic.

One of the finest places for authentic South Indian food. Simply South was a great experience for us. We ordered Nellore Ghee karam Thate Idli, Spicy Masala Dosa and a normal Masala Dosa. All preparations were excellent and delicious. The highlight was the Chutney Stack of Six different kind of Chutneys (reminded me of The Chutney restaurant chain of Hyderabad), which was a great accompaniment with the Dosas and Idli and enhanced the taste much further.

It’s is a pure vegetarian restaurant and a delight for the taste buds, especially South Indian delicacies.

Service was very prompt and staff was polite and courteous.

Ample parking available.

Authentic south indian restaurant which serves only vegetarian dishes. All items were tasty and delicious. Although the name is ‘Simply South’, their Punjabi dishes were equally good. Service was bit poor due to weekend and valentine’s day. Nice ambiance. Overall very good experience.

Dined in at Simply South – Indian Vegetarian Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. We tried their dosas, biryani, Chinese bhel, and filter coffee, and everything was delicious.

The dosas were perfectly crisp, the biryani was aromatic and flavorful without being heavy, and the Chinese bhel was a nice fusion twist—crunchy and well-balanced. Ending the meal with their filter coffee was the perfect touch, rich and authentic.

The ambience is clean and pleasant, service was prompt, and the overall experience felt comforting and satisfying. A great spot for authentic vegetarian South Indian food with variety. Definitely worth visiting again!

Simply South is an absolute delight! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it perfect for a relaxed meal. The Chole Bhature was incredible, and the Benne Dosa instantly became my favourite – soft, buttery, and full of flavour. The Ragi Dosa, uttappa, masala brinjal, Mango lassi and Filter Coffee were equally amazing. Every dish felt authentic and made the experience truly memorable. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving delicious South Indian cuisine! This is my go to place whenever I visit Dallas.

The food was absolutely delicious and truly authentic! Tejaswini went above and beyond in helping us choose what to order and recommending their signature dishes. I would definitely come back. And as someone from New York, I’d love to see this restaurant open a location there—there’s nothing like it in NYC! The variety of chutneys and the wide range of dishes, including both South Indian and surprisingly good North Indian options, is something you rarely find.

I recently visited Simply South in Irving, Texas, and my experience was nothing short of delightful. I started off with their dosa, which came out perfectly golden and crisp. The outer layer had just the right crunch, while the inside remained soft and slightly fluffy. Dipping it into the sambar was a treat the sambar had that authentic South Indian tangy-spicy balance that immediately reminded me of home. It felt comforting and satisfying. The real highlight for me was the South Indian thali. It was like a festive spread laid out on my plate, with poori, plain rice, pulihora, sambar, rasam, dal, multiple curries, pachadi, chutneys, papadam, and sweets like kesari and sweet pongal. Every dish had its own unique flavor, yet they all tied together beautifully. The poori was perfectly puffed, the curries had that authentic home-style touch, and the rasam was bold and refreshing. I especially enjoyed how the desserts balanced out the spices from the main course. It felt like a complete journey of South Indian flavors in one sitting.I also tried their curry and biryani, which were served in brass vessels, adding a rustic, traditional vibe. The curry was rich and creamy, full of flavor, and the biryani was spiced just right without being overwhelming. Garnished with fresh coriander, it looked as good as it tasted. The ambience of the restaurant was lively, warm, and very inviting. The décor with South Indian touches made the experience even more authentic, and the place was buzzing with happy diners. Overall, my visit to Simply South felt like more than just a meal it was an experience of South Indian culture, flavors, and hospitality. Definitely a place I’d recommend and one I’ll be going back to soon.

We went 40 minutes before closing today ( 4th Jan) at Irving location. The host reluctantly let us in and showed the corner table to take which was unclean. He warned we should order and go before 9:00 pm. The waitress rushed our orders and dumped our food in 5 minutes and coffee we asked after food but thrown at us way before food. Nice part was food tasted very good. Ambience was very unclean and had to beg to clean the table. I wish management take this feedback seriously, otherwise competition will eat them alive.

Great good, good ambiance as well. We went on Wednesday for lunch and lot of people were during those time. On Weekend there might be waiting. Benne dosa was good, crispy with pot of oil and Nellore ghee thatte idly was great as well. Chole nature was also good. Best part of 6 chutneys – all of them are good. Must visit for south Indian in Dallas.

This place serves up some seriously fantastic and soothing south Indian grub! The service here is also top-notch, making for a really pleasant experience. Don’t even think about skipping the breakfast items – they are an absolute must-try! My only minor gripe is that the seating can feel a bit too congested and cramped at times. I really hope they can find a way to improve the seating situation.
