Got to try this place due to octopus and lobster cravings. Our server asked if we wanted to see the lobster cart and we just said yes cause why not. Got one of their Brazilian lobster tails. We also had their grilled octopus, crab cakes, Mexican corn, and scallop appetizer. Food in general was good but what we didn’t like were the octopus and lobster tail were overcooked. The octopus was probably not poached long enough so it was very chewy. The lobster was also very rubbery when it was served to us which was a bummer because the tail was huge! Seasoning was very good though and everything tastes fresh. Service was awesome!

Great 1st impression of this newer restaurant. Their fish and chips is the best in recent memory – the fish was fried to a perfect crisp and was piping hot. But the fries were also amazeballs – crispy and perfectly seasoned. Then I dug into the coleslaw and also enjoyed it. I was told that they won some type of award for their fish and chips.

Another fabulous meal at Simply Fish. Loved talking to the people next to us, on both sides, who said this was their first time here, but they will definitely come back. Additional dining tables recently added. Best quality seafood, generous portions, reasonable prices. I had the blackened salmon. My husband loves the crab cakes. Come to Simply Seafood!

Calamari stripes were great along with the fried clams were offered by Derek on the house which was super nice. Scott and Vanessa helped us out and were great. We enjoyed our food. I had the Blackened Cajun Salmon with brown rice, French fries, and Brussels sprouts. Finished the entire plate super good. My wife had the cioppino and enjoyed very much.

Came here first time,we got crab cake, warm seafood salad, fish and chips, crab cake was really good but warm seafood salad was alright, first of all scallops size not like u saw on the pictures of the menu, super tiny, second of all squids and shrimps were overcooked, they were like rubbery but salmon was undercooked,it was clear the inside, third, they put too much sesame dressing on my salad which completely made my salad soaked in dressing so I suggest them should put dressing on the side rather than pouring in the salad like that, fish and chips was good , overall food was good except my warm seafood salad

Yum yum yum! Perfect fit for the costa mesa community! I was craving seafood but had zero desire to gussy up to head down to Newport or south coast for it. Simply fish is casual, fit for a quick date night or taking the family out. Food is in my opinion fresher and made with the seafood as the highlight of the dish instead of sauces masking the flavors. In other words Simply Seafood. The business is own by a independent small family which just adds to my love of the place. We must continue supporting small businesses! We were there Sunday night we started with the brussel sprouts and let me tell you its a game changer. I had the clams and the cl chowder my husband the white fish plate. We were so impressed we came back Tues night for taco Tuesday. We were very happy we did. For $10 we got 2 tacos fries and a soda. I recommend the shrimp, steak and the grilled white fish. I had to try the lobster bisque and it was delish but for my pallet (lighter) I prefered the clam chowder. One of the best chowders ive had in a long time. Service was impeccable Kim made us feel like family.

It’s so weird how the filet mignon skewer tasted waaaay better than the tiny Itty bitty lobster tail. See how small it is next to my fork? The filet mignon I’d totally recommend, the 4oz lobster tail, not so much. The fish n chip was normal. The restaurant itself, clean, and fresh looking.

I really enjoyed their shrimp appetizers and entrees. I had the shrimp taquitos, which were crispy, succulent, and delicious. Imagine an egg roll wrapper around perfectly seared shrimp, dressed like a taquito with some cotija cheese, lettuce onion, cilantro, jalapenos, and some chipotle.

I found this place through IG Reels. Their fish and chips is 5 stars. Hot and flaky and quite well seasoned. Do NOT get the margarita. $8 for a glass of syrup barely any alcohol and do NOT get their rockin shrimp tacos. Lack any depth of flavor. The battered shrimp tacos were quite good though. One water refill after being there for 45 minutes. Would go again for the fish and chips but not much else.
