Whether it’s teaching servers about new styles of beer, encouraging cooks to use new techniques, or honing his own palate with an Introductory Sommelier Certificate, Mike is a firm believer in empowerment through education. In the same vein, Mike prides himself on promoting from within (a current GM started off as a server, and a one-time dishwasher now boasts the title of executive chef), and truly believes in putting people first. When he’s not at Simmzy’s, Mike can be found surfing in Manhattan Beach, spending time with his wife and daughters, or planning his next aerial flight over California’s wine regions.

Love this place, been here mutiple times and it never disappoints! We always start off with the caramelized Brussel Sprouts because they are to die for. I always get the Salmon Sando sauce its my favorite thing on the menu and so does my man! Also thank you Chelsea for being so sweet and attentive, full section of tables and yet she was on top of it with refills and making sure we were good! This is why I live to come here good food and good service!!!

We were able to get right in and they had no problem accommodating our party of 6 plus a baby. The server was awesome and provided top notch customer care. Everyone enjoyed their food, which came quickly and had generous portions. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed quality meal.

Ordered carne asada fries, and in my opinion it wasn’t enough carne asada. Other than that fries were good. Thin crust Margherita was a good option to share.

This is an amazing spot with one of the best flat bread pizzas in the city of Long Beach. The sweet potato fries are also very good, and can’t forget the wings. 10/10 Just a few steps away from the beach. ️

The food was ok. Regular bar food. The citrus salmon salad was really good. I liked the fries. The wings were ok. They were cooked well but felt like they needed more wing sauce. Family got burgers and tacos they said they were good but nothing memorable about them.

We stopped by Simmzy’s on a cool summer Sunday, and the vibe was perfect — casual, beachy, and full of energy. Families, fur babies, and iced drinks all around. Inside was bustling but not chaotic; outside, bright red umbrellas and breezy conversation made it feel like the heart of Belmont Shore.
M.S.G. Pizza — mushrooms, sausage, garlic, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and scallions on a thin, crispy crust. Every bite was savory, smoky, and balanced. Absolutely delicious and one we’d order again.
Caramelized Brussels Sprouts — rich with garlic butter, lemon, capers, and anchovies, served with a slice of bruschetta. Crispy, bold, and packed with umami — but fair warning: the caper-anchovy combo tips the saltiness scale. Still flavorful, just maybe not for the faint of sodium.
The space feels like a surf shack met a neighborhood pub and had a very cool baby. There’s even a VW bus front inside. Service was warm, quick, and unfussy.

Street parking is limited — come early or bring patience

This is a super late post for me. I love Simmzy’s and I am still sad that the one close to me (Burbank) closed.
My wife, son and I were out in Long Beach for Saint Baldricks, it’s a fundraiser for cancer research.
I have to say from start to finish our visit was absolutely perfect. Jennifer was awesome! She was incredibly friendly, welcoming and fast! We never had to look for her and my drink was never empty.
The food was great! I highly recommend the eggs Benedict pizza!!!!

Food: I got the 15-minute wing – are their versions of Buffalo wings. Sweet, tangy, and juicy. I also got the chimichanga. There are plenty of beers on tap, including their house beers.
Service: relaxed atmosphere, with a bar vibe, good music, and large windows. The service is quick, accurate, and friendly.
Final thought: great little place to rest your feet after walking around 2nd Street. The beach is only about a 7-minute walk.

Really disappointed with this bartender service LB she didn’t let us know it was last call. We wanted another drink and we couldn’t get it. If they told us earlier we would have ordered sooner. Bartender was also rude and didn’t smile at all. She has no customer service skills. She shouldn’t be working there. She created a bad atmosphere. We traveled all the way from boston ma. She should get fired if i was te manager.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in southern California. It’s one of the few places that’s kept the quality of their food at a top level. The classics remain and additions they make are never lackluster. I know i can try something new or fall back on an old favorite and always be satisfied. A great drink selection also adds to the appeal if you’re looking for that. The staff is incredible and always have good suggestions.
