Let me start by saying – Do not trust these low reviewers – this is brooksville/Spring Hill so there is a history to their misery. Now on to the food, I got delivery and they were out of tenders but replaced them with fresh wings (imagine complaining about that) I was totally fine with that, food arrived quick and hot. Black eyed peas and collards were very very tasty! And the chicken was juicyyy and hit the spot!! The Mac was baked style so if you know that type it’s that type and I enjoy that type! Overall I was very pleased with my meal and hope that people will stop being so miserable and consider we are all just trying to make it one day at a time! Stay blessed yall

I’ve been dying to try Simmons Soul Food & BBQ and I finally had the chance while I was at Marker 48 Brewing today. This is some of the best BBQ I’ve had in a long time. The ribs were HUGE and had a good smoke flavor, no bitterness with a good rub. The sauce is sweet and a little spicy just like I like it. The mac and cheese was gooey and the collard greens were tender, savory, smoky, and went perfect with the cornbread crumbled over it. We even got to try a secret menu item that might be on the menu soon so be nice and you might get a sneak peak too. Five star food from very nice people!

If you’re craving incredible soul food and BBQ, Simmons Soul Food and BBQ is a must-try! Lonnie and Phyllis, the owners, are the sweetest people, and you can tell they pour their heart into everything they make. The brisket is insanely tender, the oxtails are perfectly cooked, and the ribs fall right off the bone. Every bite is packed with flavor, and you can really taste the love they put into their food. Highly recommend this place—it’s a true 5-star experience!

We ordered brisket dinner with dirty rice and mac and cheese and a side order of frries to eat while hanging at Marker 48. The women who cared for us was absolutely amazing. So kind and friendly. Our fries were cooked to perfection and we really loved the mac and cheese and the dirty rice. She was very funny and kind while we awaited our order to be ready. Checked out this BBQ food truck the other day and wow—we’re still talking about it. We both got the pulled pork sandwiches with mac and cheese and fries (yes, we went full carb mode—don’t judge us, lol).
The pulled pork was super flavorful, and the portions were no joke. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and just comforting. You know that kind of food that makes you quiet while you eat? Yeah, it was like that.
We also had their pineapple lemonade, and it was so refreshing—perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Totally hit the spot with the meal.
The owners were so friendly too—one of them joked, “This food’s so good it’ll put you to sleep,” and honestly… they weren’t wrong. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.

Soo Good, U Wanna Slap Yo’ Momma =] I found this Gem Finally, a soul food/southern spot close by! Soo much flavors and everything is soo good! That barbecue sauce, them oxtails, fried ribs and chicken wings & barbecue ribs… I can keep on. You have to stop by and experience the flavors and let’s not forget, great customer service by the owner. The prices are good and they portions are big.

I ordered bbq chicken instead I received fried chicken and one order was fried chicken with bbq sauce on it! The brisket was dryer than the Sahara desert! The customer service from the wife was horrible. She was rude, disrespectful and yelling at me. I requested a refund and they refused. The sides were nasty as well. Overall don’t go to this place because the food is nasty and tasteless & the owners wife lack customer service skills.

Omg not even my mama cook as good this place. The ox tails so tender fall off the bone. Mac and cheese is da best I have ever had. Rice was so on point. Chicken smoked so good. Turkey collards were OMG my mouth watering talking about the food. In my terminator voice”I’ll be back”.

The chicken was overcooked and tasted old and the pulled pork was very dry and bland. The cornbread was hard and tasteless. We did like the spare ribs, they seasoned and weren’t slathered in sauce so we could really taste the meat.

Stopped by Simmons Soul and had the oxtail while I was at Marker 48. I love soul food and this is some of the best! Oxtail was flavorful, fell right off the bone, and was served with incredible rice and sides. An absolute must stop and folks are unbelievably friendly. This is truly food with heart and love put into it!
I’ve tried a couple food trucks at this location and they’ve always been okay, but Simmons Soul is the only one that truly stands out.
