This is a quintessential part of Midwest Americana. Super relaxed atmosphere. You might even still catch The Walton’s or M*A*S*H on the TV set, while waiting for your meal. Service is always friendly! Food is cooked in a good ole fashioned “down home” style. AND…don’t forget desert!! BTW….it’s ALL good!

Love the great country cooking at Al’s Place. I haven’t eaten here in over 20 years and had to stop in for breakfast. The food was as good as I remember, great friendly service. Love the atmosphere, complete with older local men sipping coffee and talking about the news weather, etc. Reminds me of home.

The prices are very good, but the food was average at best. A couple slices of white bread and whipped spread along with store-bought potato salad is an education of the quality. My lemon pepper catfish was not very lemony and was overcooked. My wife’s jack salmon special had a very fishy taste and she couldn’t eat it. We could have said something, but we were with other people.

This is one of the so called ” hole-in-the-wall ” finds. Its a country side bar and restaurant. If you don’t know where it is you will miss it. The locals however know it and come to eat, drink and have a good time there. Family owned and operated, and it must be good since the place is open for more then 70 years. The food is country style good. The service is outstanding. When you walk in the first thing you notice is the old huge saloon bar and mirror. The ambiance is great it feels like you’re home and welcome.

Catfish and onion rings. Italian roast beef and french fries. Our server she was very nice and polite. If you’re looking for a place to stop highly recommend.

Food was mediocre, a little bit of discrimination, and I left there feeling pretty negatively. I was nothing but polite the whole time and was there with two close friends. We had an all right time though

I am having livers and gizzards for lunch as well as a stuffed tomato (fresh picked from the garden in back) in a town that only has a factory and this restaurant. Tomorrow the special is fried rabbit.

Home country cooking at its best. Ordered Denver omelet with fried potatoes and gravy. Wife ordered a slimmer meal. Great coffee, they never let the cup get empty. Rustic atmosphere and great prices. Check them out on the web or Facebook. Cost under $21 for both including $5 tip.

My husband and I both had fish. I had the cod and he had catfish. My cod was so dry I couldn’t chew it and the catfish was below average. I won’t go back!
