Passing through town on the way home from vacation, and this was a cute little spot! We were looking for something light and affordable, and this hit the spot.
The ladies that helped us were super friendly and accommodating! We got a bagel sandwich, and two of their grilled cheeses (which came on Texas toast). My favorite was probably the green chicken enchilada and rice soup!
The kids enjoyed “playing” chess while we waited for our food. My husband and I read signs around the room to learn this used to be the local grocery store. So fun little bit of town history!

Really nice stop in the heart of Downtown and definitely more than just coffee and ice cream.
Their sandwiches and salad bar are amazing.
Christa Moore one of the owners is very misinformed and refused service dog stating it has no vest, it has no id.
ADA does not require service dog to wear a vest or provide fake id. There is no id provided by the ADA because the United States does not have a national service dog registry.
A business can ask is it a service dog
What service or task is the dog trained to do for your specific disability
Service dog must be on leash
Under owners control
Service dogs are not required to tuck under table most do, but must be out of walkway
Service dog can be left with friend or pca if handler needs to go to restroom or get something
Service dogs are not carried
And service dogs cannot be told eat outside
Many with service dogs do not go out often and when confronted will just give up and never return
If it wasn’t for this issue I’d give simkins parlor 10 stars

If you’re ever traveling through sterling, this place is worth the stop. The staff is very welcoming and provides excellent customer service. The food is made fresh and very reasonably priced. They have a salad bar, great selection of sandwiches and delicious ice cream. A local favorite.

What a hidden treasure! We stopped for lunch and enjoyed the most amazing crab salad sandwich special with chips and a drink for only $8. The bread was amazing and the atmosphere was full of hospitality. We were so impressed we went back for ice cream and coffee after browsing through the equally awesome antique and gift stores nearby. Simkins Parlour is my new favorite place to eat in Sterling, Colorado.

This place is so cute! Ordered a salad wrap with spring mix, tomatoes, edamame, cucumber, roasted brussel sprouts, and house made ranch on a tomato basil wrap. Also has the chili dog, chocolate malt, and almond milk mocha. Loved the atmosphere too. 100% recommend!
