Ok it won’t look like much from the outside on ECR and from the rear you park in the alleyway lot and walk past the restrooms and the kitchen but… this place is the bomb. And the chefs are top notch. I feel bad not having good photos except for one dish which came on mini wok with a burner and a dipping sauce. That’s a special lamb dish with vegetables mushrooms and goji berries. They made some unique and delicious food. The staff knows the menu very well and can recommend and they have chef specials on the back of the menu. One set for Chinese and one set for American palette. Both are good and you can’t go wrong. On the wall they post their specials also. For a IYKYK tip – if you bring in your catch they can make it the way you want and charge you “cook-your-catch” fees.

After having an amazing whole fried fish at another Chinese restaurant, I have been looking for the same dish at a nearby restaurant. This one met my expectations. Our mapo tofu and curry mixed veggies were good too. The only item that needed improvement was the white rice which was lumpy and too soft.

Been coming here for over 20 years.
No soup today and they no longer have the dessert but we always enjoy the food.
We love all the salt and pepper items, chicken wings, tofu, and fish. All of these are super good and had to get multiple orders of each for 11 people.
Steamed tofu we had to order by showing a picture, we get 2 orders of this too.
Was here on a weeknight so it wasn’t too busy and we were able to sit and talk for awhile.

Every time we get together with families in San Mateo, we tried different kind of food. This time we visit Silver House, the restaurant that my mom used to like very much.
It’s on the main street, so if you’re lucky you find a parking spot in front of the restaurant, if not there’re a few spots in the back alley or you have to park on the street some how.
The restaurant is clean and simple, it was a Sunday night so there’re quite a few people eating.
The chef name Wang came and help us because my sister has been coming here quite often.
We ordered quite a few dishes, most of them are Cantonese style dishes, the fried eggplants are our favorite, very crispy and tasty, everyone seems to like it very much.
I had a craving for Chow Fun and it was excellent too.
Every Chinese restaurant I eat, I always tried the Wor Wonton soup, and this place does have good soup with plenty of meats of all kinds, the wontons are tasty, but the bowls they served are too small to hold all the wontons and soup.
My nephews love the shrimp crispy chow mein and it’s quite good, but the noodles are not crispy throughout but I think that’s the way they cook it.
The salt and pepper shrimps are crispy and excellent.
The Beef with bitter melon is very delicious, not bitter at all, and great sauce.
The eggplant hot pot is quite flavorful.
The Kung Pow chicken was gone in second due to being to tasty. I didn’t get any peanuts at all that I recalled.
The price here is quite reasonable and one thing nice is the service, very attentive and fast. We had some leftover to take home for Monday’s lunch and chef Wang actually put some more meats for me. Quite surprising. It was a great lunch for me the next day.

My first time here and the server , the lady in the front desk seemed to be always in a rush especially when taking our order. We ordered salted fish fried rice, that was good. Roast chicken -also good, jelly fish – okay, kaylan with oyster sauce – good, but the crystal scallops we ordered looked so different from the photo in their menu booklet. It looked more like chop suey and the taste was bland. I called the attention of the same lady who took our order and she seemed to avoid me , so had to approach her and tell her about our scallop order. At first she said it was the same as in the photo, but when we got the bill , my daughter also complained about the dish and the lady said that the next time we order that dish we should mention to lessen the vegetables and add more scallops! Ridiculous! Oh by the way we also ordered the salt and pepper shrimp which they added pumpkin which was good but the menu didnt seem like it had pumpkin for this dish because it wasnt mentioned, maybe they just added pumpkin to lessem the shrimps.

Food was delicious I gave it a 2 because my Kung po chicken was in much needed of more chicken. All I could taste was chestnuts, zucchini, bell peppers and sauce. Flavor was there tho… I’ll still be a regular here, best chinese spot.

Good spot for authentic Chinese food, particularly Cantonese style. The braised tofu clay pot dishes area really good. Good options for vegetarians tho I would recommend the seafood dishes.
