For dessert, I tried the Romeo and Juliet which was well balanced and not very rich.
The staff was friendly and there are a lot of options for dishes and sandwiches and other Brazilian street foods which make this a great stop. Next door there is a mini grocery store that sells a lot of Brazilian and Portuguese products.
I left at the time when a musician was setting up but it’s nice that they are beginning to provide entertainment as well.
Lastly, there are several TVs in the restaurant inside and it’s very dark. I think customers would be happier with less TVs and more natural lighting. The outside area is pretty but it wasn’t set up for sitting.
I would love to see the quality of the meat improve so this can become one of my favorite spots.
We show up what seemed like an empty time. Only a few other tables and the Google page said it was less busy than usual. There was no wait to be seated as well.
Ordering was straightforward but the menu seemed to be outdated with the classic “Brazilian BBQ” buffet on the menu, but when we try to order, apparently that and 1/3 of the other items on the menu were discontinued with no notice until we tried to order them.
Ok then.
We order 2 individual meals and it takes some time for things to get to us. We check a couple of times but eventually we get my plate, and half of my partners – she was missing the main thing of BBQ – the actual meat and food for the “Brazilian Experience” that we ordered that wasn’t the rice and beans.
5, 10, 15, then 20 minutes pass and we’re slowly finishing what we were given as I’m sharing the steak I ordered.
We check multiple times with the staff to just be assured it would be a couple minutes. We felt no sense of urgency or care from them to actually get us our food.
After 30-40 minutes we’re basically finished with no main meal in sight.
It wasn’t until I was ready to get the check that we were informed they’d given her food to a different table and in fact nothing was ready. They asked if we wanted it to go instead. That’s it. A minor “oh yeah, sorry bout it” just seemed like an insult after the effort we did on our part to just politely check where everything was.
Mind you, this wasn’t a busy day. I understand the restaurant life can be chaotic but this wasn’t one of those days.
It is what it is but It left an extremely bad impression of a smaller place which I always root for. The lack of apologies or efforts to make reparations which consisted solely of “do you want it to go?” isn’t a good look.
It’s disappointing because the food *I* was able to have itself was quite solid but the experience around it left us sour. I don’t feel entitled to free things or discounts but we’re dropping $100 on 2 people for a sit-down restaurant, at the very least I expect to eat the food I ordered there at the restaurant.
I likely won’t be coming back since I could just spend like $20 extra dollars and go to a more established place with all the fanfare that just seems like a better use of the time and money.
The picanha and coxinha were perfect, will definitely come back for the feijoada on weekends! Unlike other places, very fair price for amazing well served dishes. Also great live Brazilian Music and heartwarming service, feels like home
