Food was excellent, waitress was nice. Was charged a cc fee, for to go boxes, and for 1 refill on a fountain drink. Seems that charging 2.50 for fountain drinks should have enough profit margin for a refill. Burger was $18 (and it is large to be fair) so it’s not like its a super cheap place to eat.

Just over 20 miles down the highway from our home base in East Helena, MT, Silos Junction Bar and Grill has been on our list for a long time. We passed it on the way to a different 5-star restaurant review and decided to check it out.

This restaurant doesn’t open until 3:00 pm so we had to adjust our ROMEO Club schedule.

Joining our club this week were Steven and Luke.

After the long drive we sauntered into what looked more like an emergency exit door than a restaurant front door. The waitress behind the bar cheerfully greeted us as we walked past the bar and headed for the dining area. Gambling machines were located around the room giving the restaurant a definite casino feel. Looking around the room we noticed that it had a spacious feel to it. The standard cafe-style tables are spaced well apart with a few raised tables with stools for larger groups. The chairs were metal with light padding in the important part. I found them fairly comfortable. A nice view of the lake appeared outside the windows. There was no background music which is fine with me.

I ordered the half pound Ol’ Baldy burger, loaded (which adds tomato, lettuce, pickles, and onions), and for a couple bucks more I added bacon and jalapeños. I also choose tots instead of fries, which is always a win. I asked our waitress if Otto could get a discount on the Ol’ Baldy burger, but she just laughed.
The coffee was nice and fresh, with a bold flavor and not bitter. Turns out they use a Keurig for their coffee orders.

The burgers were perfectly cooked, nice and juicy and very flavorful with just a hint of pink. The bun held up well to the massive burger and nice pile of toppings. (This was definitely a multi-napkin meal.)

Steven ordered the Alfredo pizza which arrived with a healthy amount of cheese and chicken. He said his pizza was “solid”.

Luke ordered the Ol’ Baldy with no onion and added bacon. He also went for tots instead of fries.

Otto ordered the Confederate Burger which is a half pound Angus burger with grilled mushrooms and onions and topped with melted Swiss cheese. He ordered it with extra onions and no mushrooms.

Flavor reviews were mixed among our group, with Otto stating “It’s a long drive for an average burger.” Luke stated that his burger was just “Ok,” rating his meal a “B.” Steven appreciated the size of his small pizza, commenting that he was able to take half of it home for a second meal.

I loved my cheeseburger and tots. It was
the perfect flavor combination to meet my expectations.

This restaurant is located out in the middle of nowhere specifically to meet the needs of the folks who are living or vacationing at Canyon Ferry Lake in the Silos Junction area. So if you’re enjoying the lake life and get “the hungries” (after 3pm) then the Silos Junction Bar & Grill is an excellent choice for dinner.

Ordered boneless wings and they were just McDonald’s chicken nuggets with some sauce drizzled on top, appetizers were over cooked and everything was over priced for being fast food when their menu claims they don’t serve fast food. Pretty sure the only reason they are even still in business is the drunk people coming off the lake who are to drunk to realize they are getting robbed.

It is a great little bar and grill outside of town. The staff was friendly and attentive, food was good. It is not fancy but it will do just fine.

Friendly and accommodating staff, bartender was professional. She was more than willing to make food after a long day ice fishing, saved me a trip into town to get a hot meal. The pizza was great! I could not have been more satisfied with the service. Thank you!

Me and a buddy stopped in on our way back to Helena and the service was great. Our waitress took super good care of us, was prompt and on top of her game. We got chips and wings, the chips were fried and hot when they came to the table, the wings were nice and juicy and smothered in sauce. Our food and drinks came out way fast. All in all. It was s great time.
