If you like great, upscale comfort food in a relaxing setting, this is the place for you! The wife and I love to go here for casual dinner and a drink or two on the patio at the end of the week. We have been going to the original Silo’s Restaurant for almost 20 years and love the newest location at the Dominion since it is much closer to home. They have the same quality food and a great outdoor patio! Ironically, I recently realized I have never actually left them a review so I am finally getting around to it. All I can say is, do yourself a favor and give them a try today.
Our usual order is a round of craft cocktails (they have great seasonal creations), a Caesar side salad, bowl of clam chowder and two small plate of the chicken fried oysters – one of my all time favorite bites of food! This time we received a coupon for buy one entree, get one free (up to $29) so we decided to order actual entrees this time. We have tried many of their different offerings over the years and they don’t disappoint.
What we ordered:
French 75 (good as always) and a Sir Annoberry Rita (nice margarita with a good bit of heat)
Caesar Salad with extra anchovies – the extra white anchovies are soo good! The picture of this doesn’t do it justice
Chicken Fried Oysters small plate – all I can say is, you have to try it! One bite with the pork belly, greens, oyster and sauce and you will be hooked for like
Chicken Fried Oyster pasta entree – same great flavors as the small plate but more than enough for a full meal.
Shrimp and Grits Entree – pretty good but not really a favorite, glad we tried it with the coupon. After all the appetizers we ended up taking it home, heated up ok.

The food was spectacular and beautifully presented. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere is modern and very inviting.
Our server was attentive and efficient, though he seemed a bit tired — a little more warmth would have made the experience absolutely perfect.
Overall, a great place and I would definitely return.

This was a long awaited date night with my husband. SILO is on the 2nd floor, so you entered through the lobby and then the elevator. (Plenty of space for a wheelchair or scooter.) The night we went they were short handed on staff so initial service was not as quick as it should be. I used to be a server so I’m fairly understanding. We had the chef’s oysters as appetizers, they were shucked nicely with no sand or shells. Our cocktails were delicious and dinner was tasty. Slightly on the saltier side but was still delicious. The atmosphere was nice, however it was really dark and had to use my phone light to see the menu. Overall and great experience!

The Chilean Seabass is so delicious! The crab claws were amazing and the tartar sauce that came with it was delicious. The tuna was fresh the appetizer and was crusted with pepper. the food here is amazing! I would recommend that on the terrace that they make it so people can see through the wood. That would be my only thing I would change about this place.

Wine selection is extensive and they have unique cocktails.
We started with Ahi Tuna appetizer and half a dozen of various oysters from the East Coast, we were very happy with their oysters selection.
I also got a small beet salad, chef kiss!
But what stole the show was their Chilean Seabass !! Definitely one of the best in Texas!

Food was amazing. Oysters were expertly shucked and super tasty, east coast not gulf. Tuna appetizer was superb. Mussels were good not great, IMO there are other places in San Antonio that do them better. Nicole was a true professional and knowledgeable. The habanero gold rush is one of the best house cocktails I’ve ever had. 11/10 would recommend.

I’ve lived in NY for over 40 years, and had access to great sea food. SILO has excellent fresh seafood and dishes. The portions are also VERY generous and priced so fairly.
The Shrimp Nicoise is fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious.
The Miso Glazed Salmon was pure comfort food with fresh ingredients, excellent seasoning, and a rich taste.
The Shrimp and Grits were fresh, satisfying, and tasted great.
The Grilled Texas Redfish was hearty, fresh, and savory.
The Parmesan-Crusted Chicken was rich, filling, and seasoned very well.
For dessert, the dulce de leche chocolate torte is so delicious, decadent, and sweet, I’d order a whole one if I could.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Takeout is great, but eating in with the friendly staff and a great view of the hills is a treat as well.

Great experience and so glad we decided to spend our 19th Anniversary dining here! We really enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The Halibut special was outstanding and my husband said the lobster ravioli was on point. If you try the Dulce Leches cake it really is stunningly delicious. To top it off, we really appreciated how every angle of service was on top of every detail to make our dinner perfect! SILO never disappoints!

We started off with the petite seafood platter that had enough food for two people. We then had the chef selection of raw oysters which were served with the best cocktail sauce, vinegar mix, and horseradish that I’ve ever had. We continued our meal with the tuna tartar and y’all, DO NOT SKIP the tuna tartar. We concluded with the calamari, which I’m sure is the best in San Antonio! For drinks I got the Bubblin’ Buffalo that is made with Buffalo Trace bourbon and was so good! My husband had the deconstructed old fashion which he also enjoyed. The atmosphere is unbeatable, especially if you can snag a spot on their cozy terrace. Try this place for yourself on your next date night! You will not be disappointed.
