The Original Oklahoma smash burger, and best hands down. Adam was amazing, attentive to customers and to me he’s the best! His grilling was on point with making burgers. I sat right behind the grill which to me is the best seat in the house because you’ve got birds eye view of the deliciousness going down. Taste was amazing and this place is legend. I live an hour and a half away and will definitely make that drive for another burger. Environment there is very welcoming and make you feel like you’re at home. If you’ve never been here you need to go!

Sid’s Diner in El Reno truly embodies the classic American diner experience. As the proud home of the original Oklahoma onion burger, this small, bustling spot lives up to its reputation. We visited during the lunch rush, and while the limited seating meant a bit of a wait, it was well worth it.
The hospitality here is as incredible as the food. The staff were super friendly, and the owner (a third-generation family member!) took the time to greet us personally and chat about the restaurant’s rich history and its deep connections to Route 66. It’s clear the passion for this place runs deep.
And the food? Simply amazing. We ordered the signature original onion burger—a must-have—and a small order of fries, which, be warned, easily feeds two people! To top it all off, we shared an incredible banana shake.
If you are traveling the Route 66 tour or just passing through El Reno, you absolutely have to stop here. From now on, when someone says the word “diner,” Sid’s is the perfect representation of good ol’ Americana that you will picture in your head. Highly recommended!

This is an extremely small main building with limited seating. There is an extra building with more seating and it was cool during a hot summer day. They have a screen for placing orders but you have to go get your order from the main building yourself. No service in the extra building but not sure how it happens in the main building. The food was what you would expect when getting an onion burger. The onion rings were good and the fries were plenty to share.

I loved Sid’s. Today was my first time eating there. It was a Wednesday, right at the lunch rush, but the very nice and friendly staff sat us within a few minutes when a couple spaces opened up. We sat at the counter and got to watch Marty the owner work his magic on the grill. We (my father and I) both ordered the single onion burger with cheese. We shared the half order of fries and onion rings. WOW, I have heard about these burgers for awhile now and they do not disappoint. I had sky high expectations and my burger met those. I highly recommend Sid’s. I wish I had more room after for a shake but I just couldn’t fit another thing in my stomach. 5 stars all around, great food, friendly and happy staff, and even though it is snug in there it feels like an old diner and I love that. There is another building separate from the main one you can eat at also but for our first time we wanted the experience. I am glad we did. I snapped one photo of Marty at the grill performing his magic and I’ll add it here. Absolutely loved Sid’s and I will be back!

Came into Sid’s Diner to have dinner, I was wowed the moment I entered and was greeted as though a member of my family was greeting me. The restaurant is extremely clean and spotless. The decor is amazing and the Diner felt so warm and comfy, it was such a pleasant atmosphere. This Diner reminded me of the Cheer’s Pub where everyone knows your name. The other patrons were so friendly and many greeted me as well and the history of Sid’s everyone seems to know. Now, for the food, I had the famous onion burger and onion rings to boot, the food was par excellence and yummy. I asked the cook if it was legal to sell such amazing burgers, turns out I was talking to Marty, the owner. Marty said he was retired, from what I saw it didn’t look like a retired person to me, Marty was shaking and baking along with his lovely Daughter. In addition their lovely staff was just amazing. I have found a home. I highly recommend Sid’s Diner, phenomenal experience and you can tell why people live there. Thank you Marty and staff!

I’d heard of Sids for years, but never had the opportunity to eat there. Finally was nearby and stopped in today. Burger was cooked perfectly for a fried onion burger. They are by nature messy and kinda hard to manage while eating it. Lots of onions and good hot bun. Atmosphere was typical of a diner, with limited seating and close to the action on the grill

Fries are fresh cut and sort of skinny, so they cook down to rather hard and crunchy type. I prefer the ones a bit thicker that preserves the flavor more, but judging from the crowd, these are popular. Most appeared to be local folks, so that’s a great endorsement for the place. The burger reminded me of a Nics burger and that’s about as good of a compliment as you can give a burger.. If you like onion burger, this is a must try..

Took my dad to Sid’s Diner for his birthday and we had a great time! They’re known for their fried onion burgers, and they definitely lived up to the hype, everything we ordered was delicious. The atmosphere is classic and fun, though there is limited indoor seating, so be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times. The staff was fantastic, and the owner even took a few minutes to chat with us on our way out. He was genuinely interested in why we were visiting, which made the whole experience feel even more special. Totally worth the 30-minute drive from the city, highly recommend giving it a try!
