Cocktails and burgers were good. Fries as part of the combo were minimal, but tasty. We sat out side. Music would have been nice. Without it we felt like we were just sitting on the side of a building. We were waited on, but another couple who sat at the table next to us were not. As a result they went in and got their drinks and brought them to their table. They were asked later when someone checked on us if “they wanted to go back in and get their next drink or if they wanted her to come back and check on them.” We’ll they let after finishing their initial beverages. So, service was inconsistent at best. I was put off by that conversation and would have left too. They were a friendly couple spoke to us when they first walked pass and again on their way out. We even discussed alternative places to eat in the area should either of us were in the area again.

This was my first time being here but everything was so amazing. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and especially the owner, Melissa. She was on her skates, (very impressive skills, too) hustling and making everyone happy. As an owner, she didn’t need to do any of that but she was out there working hard and with a smile. Kudos to her for having an amazing place and the food?! *Chefs kiss* so yummy! I should also add, I was there on Sunday when they feature Bluegrass music and the band did not disappoint. The best part of it all? The doggos. So many adorable dogs that were around, which the restaurant caters to. If you love dogs, it’s pure heaven. ❤️❤️❤️

Possibly my most favorite bar/restaurant in the world. Big, eclectic menu with frequent new things to try, excellent drink options, and the staff is wonderful. I love going there for trivia on Thursdays and Bluegrass on Sundays. Had the chicken curry salad sandwich last night and it was fantastic!

What a rad place in downtown Batavia! The food was kickin; new interest burgers as well as old favorites! They’ve got a wide variety of cocktails and beers of all sorts!! Check out their schedule for live music and trivia. They’ve got happenings all through the week and weekends! We can’t wait to go again!!

What a cute little pub, and the owner, Melissa is such a delight to talk to! I had seen this place earlier in the fall but not had a chance to stop in. Today was the day, and boy did I enjoy the food, the service, and the atmosphere! Melissa was my server and between tables she made it a point to engage in a true conversation! I’m an older Transgender Woman and I’m sometimes reluctant to try new pubs. Melissa made it a point to welcome me and put me at ease, she even pointed out several events they sponsor for the LGBTQ community. There was a couple having drinks at a table who welcomed me into their conversation when Chuck Berry was mentioned! I LOVE a community atmosphere and Sidecar has it!

Incredible entertainment venue … Looking forward to seeing the food and service experience. There is a small courtyard with reserved or privacy possibilities before entering the beer garden. Surrounding street trees lighted provide much charm, unique 19th century vibe – a superstar band featured with friendly patrons and attentive waitstaff!

Older supper club/beer garden in Batavia. We started with fried pickle chips. They are served on a metal tray with no paper to blot the oil. The entree portions are huge. The fish and chips entree has 3 large whitefish tenders in a crispy coating. The fries were similar to ‘steak fries’ but smaller and cut too thick and were a bit under cooked for my liking. Side of slaw is red cabbage with shredded carrot- very light on the dressing which was nice. I wasn’t impressed with the food.
The server was attentive and pleasant.
We weren’t bowled over with the food/drinks and price of it all, so not sure we’d come back.

There really is no place like it! I’ve been a regular here for the last 5 years, and you really have to experience Sidecar in the summer to truly appreciate all the different and eclectic facets to it. Their Thursday night trivia fills the street with music and good food while you play. Friday and Saturday nights they have excellent bands in their upstairs beer garden adorned with ivy and twinkle lights. Sundays the street fills up again Ravinia-style for a sweet Bluegrass Sunday that is very family friendly. The food features items like from scratch burgers with hand cut fries, homemade chili, Mac and cheese, salads, the best homemade tots ever, a knockout portobello sandwich, and prime rib! I’ve seen bands here and wondered why they’re not famous. I’ve seen lovely artisan vendors here selling their art or flowers here and bought a thing or two. I’ve also seen how hard the staff works and are always ready to do what they can for you. In the winter time it turns into a warm and cozy music-by-fireside haven from the cold with a thoughtfully curated craft beer menu, complete with beer and whiskey dinner events! It’s a unique and wonderfully whimsical wild ride so choose your own adventure!
