What a charming deli! I had the most delicious roast beef sandwich imaginable – the Lynnwood with horseradish! Yummmm I enjoyed it at a picnic at Tusocogee Airmen Memorial, but the ambiance in the deli was so welcoming, I would have enjoyed dining in as well. Plenty of leftovers to enjoy later too!

Whenever we drive through Walterboro around lunchtime we stop in. Everything is 5 star – the food, the service, the ambiance. We love it! The daily soup is incredible and obviously home made. Tomato basil is to die for. We especially like their chicken salad sandwich, the Colleton. The staff is very helpful and go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is perfect. Memorable and a must stop.

We stopped here on our way north from Florida. It is a quick trip from 95 and definitely worth it. We had The Lucas, The Ravenwood, and The Wichman and each sandwich was very good. Very nice quality meat and bread and the potato salad really is good. Friendly staff, too. We will be back on other trips!

What a delightful, nostalgic and lovely place! I often travel through Walterboro and will now make this one of my regular stops! The food is delicious, (excellent potato salad and sandwiches) the people and friendly service reminds one of what restaurants used to be like, and the buiding is respectful of it’s heritage and well restored!

Amazing! Fabulous real home made food! They actually use their own home-made potato salad! Nice proportions. It is a little expensive/pricey. However, they use quality products and the proportions where enough for me to eat half that day and save the other half for the next day’s lunch. It’s a small, quaint, deli with some exposed beams and brick walls. The down side to older exposed beams is if you have strong allergies (to older stuff like furniture ect.) They have
nine tables. Four of the tables sit four people the other tables sit two people. Five of the table sit on a platform and are not wheelchair accessible. However, the other tables are easily wheelchair accessible. There are a couple parallel parking spaces in front and a gravel/dirt parking lot across the street. Very friendly, down to earth, personable staff. To-Go orders only took a couple minutes. Your order comes with the nice heavy duty plastic cutlery.

This family owned business in downtown Walterboro South Carolina is a true gem, we love a good deli sandwich. And they have many of them to choose from. We had the Reuben sandwich and the club sandwich. Each with one of the best potato salads we’ve eaten from a restaurant. The family was fast and courteous. And the building itself was very quant so if you are in Walterboro please stop by for lunch you won’t be disappointed.

I was really craving a good sandwich yesterday. I saw the rating for this place, and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. I got the Ivanhoe for myself. For my husband, I got the Ravenwood. And for my son, who’s 5, I got the ham and cheese, which came with chips and a drink. I also got two cups of the soup, which was a Bisque. They also gave me complimentary potato salad.
First, let me compliment the sides. The potato salad was creamy. I’m guessing they use sour cream and mayo and seasoning, but it has a bacony aftertaste that is so good. I can’t explain it but it was wonderful. One of the best potato salads I’ve ever had.
The bisque had corn, little potatoes, and shrimp in it. I really loved the flavor, and was excellent for the cold weather we have been having. Really hit the spot.
The sandwiches also come with pickles. Now, I don’t know what pickles they use, but they were crisp and flavorful. Not soggy. Just perfect. I was upset cause my son didn’t realize he had a pickle under the paper and ate half of mine. Lol.
Unto the sandwiches! First, for a children’s sandwich, they did not hold back. Good quality bread, cheese, and ham. My son ate half of it, and that’s saying something cause he’s very picky. My sandwich was stuffed and perfect. Not to soggy with the sauces, the bread was soft, and the meats and cheeses were high quality. Now, I admit, I eyed my husband’s sandwich cause the meat looked so good on it. He gave me a bite. So good! There was nothing left when we were done.
As for the atmosphere of the place, everyone was so nice. Just friendly and helpful. I will be back!
