The best Chinese cuisine in the area. We drove almost an hour to try this place and it’s better than we expected!!

Noodles are so flavorful and chewy. The Lychee martini is my favorite. Will definitely come back to try other things on the menu. Highly recommend.

Wonderful place to have dinner!
This was my second time eating here- my first being about half a year ago. The ambiance was lovely and elegant, yet cozy and casual at the same time. The overall space is a bit small and tightly packed, but not a big problem unless you don’t enjoy being too close to other customers. I’m not sure if its the same for other tables, but our seats were a bit low, so my legs were spilling out slightly to the side and I didn’t have room to push the chair out from the table due to a wall. Other than that, the service was great! The owner was being an absolute boss lady by taking orders, serving, and bussing all the tables by herself. She had amazing customer service and was super sweet to us. The drink/food/dessert menus are all organized in one book, keeping it simple and clean. Most items had photos, so it was easy to visualize the food. The main ingredients were also listed under each item.

We ended up getting two drinks, two appetizers, two entrees, and one dessert.
-Floating Like a Dream ($12.95)
I’d say this drink was definitely worth the price. It came in a big margarita glass rimmed with little flowers. The alcohol was not too strong, and the flavor was good. Nice option if you want something simple with familiar ingredients.
-Kung Pao Shrimp Bao Buns (3 pc for $13.95)
So yummy! However, I wish it came with more shrimp! I think they put two pieces of small shrimp per bao. The size of the baos is not that big, but not super tiny. I definitely recommend trying this at least once!
-Pistachio Latte (~$5.00)
Pretty yummy flavor. Coffee flavor wasn’t too bitter/strong.
-Alley Chili Dumplings (6 pc for $8.95)
Best. Appetizer. Ever. Every time I come here, I will make sure to order at least one serving of this! It is not too spicy- and since the steamed dumplings are laying on top of the spicy chili sauce, you can adjust how much chili you actually want to smother your dumplings in! The sauce is sooooo good though. Both times I came, I wished I ordered more of this before I got too full haha!
-Grilled Salmon Pasta (Spicy) ($26.95)
The flavors of everything combined in this dish were amazing. Not too spicy, more of an umami taste. Pasta, salmon, avocado, crispy kale, marinated egg, tomatoes, broccoli. It was just so good- and not crazy oily like I was worried about! The piece of salmon was a little smaller than what I expected for the price of the dish, but I think the other ingredients helped to fill me up, so I didn’t care as much about it at the end. I don’t think I would order this again because the price is a bit high for the food, but maybe on a special occasion.
-Braised Beef Ramen (Not Spicy/No Vegetables) ($16.95)
Immediately I noticed that this only came with three chunks of beef, which already looked smaller in comparison to the picture on the menu. I think overall the taste was good and pretty average. I liked how they used a different, more traditional style of noodles instead of the curly, yellow noodles that you get in instant ramen. I don’t think this dish was that great compared to other things they have on the menu, but it was a decently big bowl that is sharable.
-Chocolate Hazelnut Cake ($9.75)
This was so so so good! I was worried it would be too sweet, but it tasted perfect. The taste reminds me of a ferrero rocher chcolate. The slice is the perfect size to share or just eat on your own! I would definitely order this again!

Absolutely loved Sichuan Alley! We went for a date night and absolutely loved it! Everything we ate was incredible. My favorites were the pan friend dumplings and the black pepper beef. The cocktails were all delicious and fairly priced. My only critique is that the could use more servers but the server we had was great. All in all an excellent meal, we will be back!

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Although small, they are very warm and welcoming. It may not look like much on the outside, the interior looks like a 5 star restaurant The food was very delicious as well. I especially loved the pork belly bao(strongly recommended).

Probably our favorite Asian restaurant in the area. Delicious food, amazing cocktails and a cozy vibe. It does get busy on weekend nights, so I’d recommend an online reservation. Perfect for small to medium gatherings.

Sichuan Alley Bistro offers an authentic and vibrant dining experience that truly captures the essence of Sichuan cuisine. The highlight of our visit was without a doubt the beef soup—rich, deeply flavorful, and comforting. It’s a must-try dish that showcases the kitchen’s skill and attention to detail. The spice level was just right, offering warmth without overwhelming the palate, and the beef was incredibly tender.

The overall ambiance of the bistro is warm and inviting, with decor that adds a nice cultural touch without feeling overdone. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out in a timely manner, fresh and hot.

If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the consistency in a couple of the side dishes—some felt a bit under-seasoned compared to the boldness of the main courses. Also, seating could feel slightly cramped during peak hours, so a little more spacing or better flow could enhance the comfort.

That said, Sichuan Alley Bistro is absolutely worth a visit, especially for those looking to explore real Sichuan flavors. I’ll definitely be coming back—and recommending that beef soup to everyone.

The attention to detail at this restaurant is really spectacular. First, the branding is really amazing, which is not something I tend to give much thought to at a restaurant but it’s clear that a lot of love and thoughtfulness has gone into this place. The logo is super cute and shows up in a lot of small ways throughout the restaurant. The atmosphere is also very nice, it does not feel at all like you’re still in Hartford Connecticut. It feels comfortable and intimate but still unique and different. One of my favorite parts is the menu. The photography of all the dishes is really good and was so helpful, especially since we’d never had Sichuan food before and didn’t know what to expect. The service and food were great. The cocktails were delicious and we enjoyed sharing small plates. We had the find the chicken in the chilies, dan dan noodles, pork bao, and shredded tofu skin. Overall it was a really fun experience eating here and I’m excited to come back.

A month ago we took my sister out for her belated birthday dinner. We have never been to Sichuan Alley Bistro, my sister found this place through Instagram reels and wanted to try it out. Initially it was a busy Saturday evening where we got a table
bar near the entrance and from the first impression of the dinning area was very nice.

Atmosphere – It was pristine, modern and very unique.
Service – The waiter was very attentive, professional and checked on us if everything was good.

Food – Everything was fresh, tasty and the presentation was carefully crafted.

We will definitely be coming back.

The dishes we ordered were well seasoned at a reasonable price. Service needs to be improved though. After we went through the extensive drink menu and were excited to place an order, we were told that they were still waiting on their alcohol license. We wished that we were given a heads-up rather than wasting our time looking at the drink menu. The waitress wasn’t very attentive either. She gave me the impression that she didn’t want to work there. Another lady who might be the owner did check on us and was much more friendly than the waitress.
