Still awesome food, and still friendly and efficient service even though they are clearly short staffed and very busy. Tremendous kudos to the front and back staff as it’s got to be challenging providing quality food and friendly service for a lot of dine-in customers and to-go orders!
Updated Aug. 19, 2021:
Tonight got takeout, and the food is as delicious as usual, made fresh to order and still very generous portion sizes!
Very tasty food with very generous portions, and absolutely loved and appreciated their focus on COVID protocols!
Satay Chicken was dry. The salad was included is only like 3 slices of cucumber.
Tom Ka didn’t even have a hint of spice making it very bland. Could not finish.
Seafood salad is great
Service is friendly and nice!
Very close to my hotel!
Prices are reasonable!
10/10
1st time I tried it with rice noodles…
2nd time I subbed in Ramen and whoa so good it was ( Yoda voice)
3rd time I had it with Lo Mein.
I’m torn between Lo Mein and Ramen being my fav.
The basil and veggies were big leafed and enough!
Jessica who is the broth-ista is hands down one of the sweetest chefs, her and “Grandma and Auntie ” and their grand daughter/niece are also very sweet!
The 3rd time I was their they let me sample the crab raggoon appetizer AND made me a nice lil plate of Pad Thai…that too was incredible with taste and flavor!
They are more of a true Mom and Pop shop…so its come with those expectations. Its not fine dining.
I’m back from Christmas break and am going tonight with my roommate; gonna let him experience it for the first time!
I’m also excited to use my new chop sticks that were a gift from my nephew who got back from Osaka Japan after a 4 month study abroad program for his senior year! Woohoo!! They are hand made!
Went on Friday. 1:45. Walk in. First thing I hear is not a friendly hello but a ” we close in 15 minutes”. I get it. I worked in food my whole life. But we wanted a quick take out.
And even if you close the kitchen at 2. You can’t shoo people out at 1:45. As a family business that’s bad style and will cost you.
Until now I went twice monthly. Now you won’t see my shadow for a while. Just bad style.
Loving the pho.
The rest is pretty decent too. Great portions.
Service was ok. Even the ice tea tasted like real tea. Went back the next day and had the Pad Thai, was good too. Will be bqck
Ordered pad kee mao and pad thai dinner. What I got was barely seasoned, bland and dry noodles. They definitely got the spice(heat) level right but that’s about it. Feels like noodles were cooked at super low temperature with zero flavor. Huge disappointment.
I’ll start by saying this place was a staple for both business lunch meetings and for take-out for my family for years.
Recently I have been disappointed, on consecutive visits and consecutive family dinners.
Explanation of stars:
Atmosphere, I gave two because it was never really much to begin with but it seems quite blah now. They have a prominent table in the middle of the dining room for food delivery pickup.
Service: employees are always curious and pleasant.
Food: this is my biggest gripe. The food used to be flavorful, aromatic and had all the characteristics of Thai food. All recent experiences have fallen far short of these, what used to be expectations.
The Pad Thai was bland on multiple occasions. Seasoning was not even mixed in properly. I know the chicken is steamed and just added but there was no attempt to combine it so flavors could impart.
Additionally, I asked for Native Hot and I could make out a small amount of cut up red chili pepper but it wasn’t spicy at all. My wife and daughter had mild spice on their meals and it tasted the same.
I used to recommend this place regularly to people looking for great Thai food. Unfortunately, this will no longer be the case.
