I heard about this place on Facebook so I had to try it, drove 25 minutes to it , now for the food , I got the wings that’s supposed to have the jerk sauce on it, but there was no sauce on the wings. The mac & cheese was bland and dry. The collard greens had little to no meat in them and they are from a can. The candy yams is also from a can. The cornbread was so dry. It was like 2 to 3 days Old , it just fell apart no moisture to it whatsoever. My daughter had the chili french fries and all it was was some Hormel chili poured on top of some fries. Nothing special. The best thing about my meal was the grape Fanta soda. I like to give Black own restaurants, good reviews, but I could not do it at this one , I wish them the best of luck though , they also charge me money for using my card They called it a convenience fee. I think they should post that before And then have the nerve to ask for a tip. The lady that took our order did ask me how was the food? I didn’t want to hurt her feelings so I just said it was good. Totally amazing. I didnt expect much but I was instantly transported to Southern style comfort and food. Its fantastic the price is good portions are incredible and taste is fantastic. The girls are so nice you can feel there genuine dedication to quality authentic southern style.

This food was so fire. I got the smothered wings with collard greens and candy yams and I don’t even know how to explain it. It was just amazing and perfect and very Chicago style. There was no part of my meal that didn’t have amazing flavor. And the owner gave us a free banana pudding, which was equally as delicious better than my mom’s!!!

These guys are great! Took a chance here since we were in the mall and Dwan and Willa (hope I got that right!) were so friendly and the wings were great! Spicy! Told Dwan that if his spicy wings took me out he was gonna have to take care of the people I was with. He was down for that. Fun people there! But will go the next step up on the spicy level when i go back! 3 stars for Atmosphere since it’s a mall food court after all. But quiet and lots of places to sit.

Try this spot ASAP! They had some of the best wings I’ve ever had! Super crispy and the KO sauce tasted great. The fries were fried to perfection. The yams were full of flavor too. Excellent service as well! Go support, she deserves the business. Real heart and effort put into the food.

I honestly wish I could give this place more stars. You will have a very difficult time finding good Soul Food like this anywhere in the STATE, let alone the area. I had the Catfish, Red Beans and Rice, and the Collard Greens. Will definitely be going more regularly!

We ordered some rib tips and mac & cheese with corn bread. The cornbread was incredibly dry & broke into pieces the moment I tried to bite into it. The mac and cheese was straight up water and cheese. The rib tips were okay, I got incredibly sick after eating from here. The price for the food was NOT worth it at all. There was a lady at the register who was sick and rubbing her nose without washing her hands, she went in the back and made our plates. I wanted to ask for a refund just because of that alone but my boyfriend wanted to give it a try. I wouldn’t recommend this place

I so wanted to love this place because I’m from Chicago and missed my hometown. The disappointment was so overwhelming…We had to wait 45 minutes to order, not a problem because if the food is good I’m patient. I order a meal that included ribs, catfish, chicken wings,fries and Mac and cheese. I also got rib tips and coleslaw. The Mac and cheese was noodles and yellow water, the coleslaw was mayonnaise and vinegar. The catfish was over cooked and dried out not to mention the ribs were covered in a sauce that had no remnants of barbeque flavor. The tips were tough as well. Me and my husband traveled an hour to support this business , yet I’m so sorry to say it didn’t make the cut for a repeat. I did give stars for the customer service they were very apologetic for the long wait, yet amazing customer service without quality food is null and void…

Just ate a bowl of their gumbo — and it was excellent. Had the right amount of spice, very flavorful, very friendly owner and staff.
