Absolutely fantastic spot for great seafood and drinks! Their white chocolate bread pudding was some of the best me and my family have ever had! The owner was so nice and friendly! Felt like family from the great southern hospitality experienced here! Definitely go to Shucks! if you’re visiting or live in the area!

The exterior and surroundings were nice. I ordered a dozen raw oysters and the Shucked Margarita that was mixed with Hornitos. The service was good, including the hostess. They have outdoor seating with the view of the bayou. I’ll be back to try more food.

We stayed in Abbeville for one night and stopped at Shucks for dinner. It is a lively, happy atmosphere filled with locals (a good sign!) having a great time. The staff and owner are very gracious.
I had the charbroiled oysters, they were cooked just right and were very tasty and quite large. My husband had to try the local crawdads and he ate 3lbs! He loved the flavor and how they were seasoned. As we left (on a Saturday night) live music was being played in there outdoor space. Thank you Shucks!

Sat outside with our 3 kids, it was hot but that’s southern Louisiana and we had a good time! Oysters were the best charbroiled I’ve had and I really enjoyed the seafood pasta and gator bites. My wife had the flounder and she enjoyed it. We will definitively be going back for more oysters and seafood!

I will Definitely recommend going to Shucks. The food and service was outstanding- thank you, Braelynn,- great job. To start we ordered the super sampler of oysters- Very good! Then, crab claws had 1/2 fried and 1/2 grilled – the fried ones were good, but we all Loved the grilled ones. For entrees Ordered grouper, fried seafood platter, grilled shrimp- Delicious! Also got the bread pudding to take home,it was also delicious. We Enjoyed all the food we ate and the wonderful service.

Great food. It is pricey but competitive with other seafood restaurants. Their raw oysters are always delicious as well as the chargrilled oysters. Great drink selections too. Highly recommend.

We had the best experience tonight!! Our daughter and 4 grandchildren (ages 10 to 16) came in from Texas and we treated them to “Shucks!”.
Jaycie, (hope I spelled that right) was our server and she was spectacular!!! She was so on the spot, so efficient, so friendly, so accurate and such a wonderful server. I just don’t remember better service, anywhere.
We ordered three appetizers to share. Alligator bites times two and batter fried green beans. Both were excellent; with the gator bites sauce being our favorite! (What’s in that???!!!, omgosh) Entrees were red beans and rice with fried fish x3, a children’s shrimp and fries, a Catfish Atchafalaya, a Shuckin Flounder and a Shucks Stacker. Perfect y’all, just perfect! Appetizers, 10! Hot, fresh & amazing. Entrees, 10 again! Adults and kids; happy as can be, right down to smokin hot French fries & fresh garden salads.
Jaycie was a mind reader; asking if we needed something before we realized that we did. She’s an asset to Shucks! and they need to hang in to her! The folks doing all of the cooking; 10+, it simply couldn’t have tasted better!
The restaurant was clean, bright and cheerfully noisy and we had the best time. Ticket total with 3 Appetizers, 6 adult entrees, 1 child entree and bottomless beverages and impeccable service for all was $200. We didn’t want for a thing. Jaycie, the food, the atmosphere…. top shelf y’all. Check paid, $50 tip for our awesome server and then we called it a night.

Delicious food! Among the best I’ve had in Southern Louisiana and there are a lot of good restaurants in South LA. Emily, our server was awesome and did great job. Top notch. Can’t say good enough things about SHUCKS! and the service and food!

Our favorite restaurant in town, hands down! Chargrilled oysters and grilled crab claws are our go-to. The hub loves the chowder and the home-made cane salad dressing is the bomb!
