Great little spot with good food, accessible parking, good service, and it’s privately/locally owned. I don’t think the veggies or tofu are organic. The chairs make a lot of noise when you scoot them. But these are the only small things I can think of that I would change. Today I got a veg tofu dish lunch special. It was ready in about 10 minutes, cooked well, great taste, and the young man behind the counter was helpful. So good! Lunch special is $10 before tax (at least for the veg tofu options, I’m not sure about the others) and you get an entree, rice, and a side (soup/roll/pot sticker I think) and it’s a very full meal for one hungry person or two medium sized meals for a more dainty eater. I have eaten there numerous times with only good experiences and I will eat there again even though I moved across town.

Clean, efficient restaurant with an affordable lunch special with many different options. The vegetable fried dumplings were especially good.
They have two large dining rooms and friendly staff.
They have a large free parking lot shared with adjacent businesses.

Got a lunch special with soup. Add soup came out almost immediately. Only one here. Then at least 20-25 minutes I sat there waiting. My first time here so I figured they’d bring me my main meal. I looked on the edge of the counter and I saw a meal sitting under a heat lamp. I asked if he was supposed to bring it to me and if it was sitting there for a while and he said yes. Not exactly the best first impression.

The food tasted incredible ! Everything was crispy fresh… even the veggies. The fried rice is some of the best I’ve had in town. It actually has flavor compared to most other places I’ve tried.

Crab rangoons were not basic… talk about craveable and flavor packed.

Chicken eggrolls had the perfect flakiness and were bursting with flavor.

Nice little spot! Fresh ingredients and attentive service. It felt very comfortable, I had an issue with one of my dishes and they promptly corrected it. I tried the edamame, wonton soup and sesame chicken. My brother had the sesame shrimp. I appreciate the experience and will definitely be back.

Hungry for straight up Chinese and this place was recommended by a local retailer. Good lunch special selection. Hot and sour soup was delish. Large portion of Mongolian beef with mediocre fried rice. Good egg roll. Spoon had dried/caked on food on it, YUK
Will explore other places in the area next time.

I tried this place first time today with a very high expectation, but I was very disappointed with the food.☹️

The clerk was very polite and friendly. He is great.
I had a hot & sour soup, it’s also great, I like it.

But, the dragon noodle was…”not good”. I really don’t like the taste and flavor if it has any.

I was so confused because the combination of veggies and meat should be ok, but why it tasted so bad? My answer is the sauce. This dish could be super good if they just use regular soy sauce and red chili.

The sauce should bonds the flavors of the ingredients together, but sadly it does not. Super flavorless, only tomato sour, hot and spicy on your tongue.

And they put in the noodle at the very end of cooking, making it even more flavorless. They should put the noodle into the wok and pan fried it with the veggies and meat for a while before adding any sauce or soy sauce, so the noodle has time to absorb the flavor of ingredients and wok. This should be one of the basic rules of making Asian dishes.

Anyway, I don’t recommend the dragon noodle. I might try something else next time.

I recently stopped by Shu Shu’s Asian Cuisine and was pleasantly surprised. Their General Tso’s Chicken and Sesame Chicken were crisp, flavorful, and balanced (the sauces are just right). Their Singapore Noodles and Dragon Noodles are great picks if you want something a little lighter yet satisfying.

The restaurant has a clean, relaxed vibe with large windows and natural light, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Portion sizes were generous, which makes it perfect for sharing or getting leftovers. Definitely a solid go-to when you’re craving Chinese food in Austin.

The owner/ manager was a very nice guy.

But unfortunately I walked out of here feeling completely ripped off. I paid $18 for what I was told was a full order of General Tso’s chicken, and the container was more than half rice with only a few ounces of meat on top. I honestly thought the new employee had made a mistake, but he doubled down and insisted it was “more meat than the lunch special.”

What little chicken I did get was below mall food court quality and nowhere near worth what they’re charging. For that price, this is unacceptable. There are too many better options nearby to ever justify paying this much for so little, and I don’t see myself ever coming back.

This unassuming Asian restaurant was a pleasant surprise! My friend did not want to go here because the name meant something else in another language but she joined me under protest. I think the name means Uncle in Chinese.

This is an order at the counter restaurant. Kristi was working front of house. She helped my vegetarian friend decide on her choices, patiently explaining the dishes, answering all questions and making suggestions.

The lunch specials run until 2:30 everyday…choice of appetizer and entree. My friend ordered the Black Bean entree with tofu and substituted some vegetables plus egg drop soup. I had the Serrano Black Bean entree with chicken plus hot and sour soup.

Both entrees were generously tasty portions. I viewed a few other plates which also looked delicious. I will definitely be back for more!

Reminder – Make sure to tip when ordering or at the table as some refrain from doing so at counter order restaurants.

Kristi happily took our order, brought our food, checked on us, bussed our plates and cleaned up afterwards.
