They have two large dining rooms and friendly staff.
They have a large free parking lot shared with adjacent businesses.
Crab rangoons were not basic… talk about craveable and flavor packed.
Chicken eggrolls had the perfect flakiness and were bursting with flavor.
Will explore other places in the area next time.
The clerk was very polite and friendly. He is great.
I had a hot & sour soup, it’s also great, I like it.
But, the dragon noodle was…”not good”. I really don’t like the taste and flavor if it has any.
I was so confused because the combination of veggies and meat should be ok, but why it tasted so bad? My answer is the sauce. This dish could be super good if they just use regular soy sauce and red chili.
The sauce should bonds the flavors of the ingredients together, but sadly it does not. Super flavorless, only tomato sour, hot and spicy on your tongue.
And they put in the noodle at the very end of cooking, making it even more flavorless. They should put the noodle into the wok and pan fried it with the veggies and meat for a while before adding any sauce or soy sauce, so the noodle has time to absorb the flavor of ingredients and wok. This should be one of the basic rules of making Asian dishes.
Anyway, I don’t recommend the dragon noodle. I might try something else next time.
The restaurant has a clean, relaxed vibe with large windows and natural light, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Portion sizes were generous, which makes it perfect for sharing or getting leftovers. Definitely a solid go-to when you’re craving Chinese food in Austin.
But unfortunately I walked out of here feeling completely ripped off. I paid $18 for what I was told was a full order of General Tso’s chicken, and the container was more than half rice with only a few ounces of meat on top. I honestly thought the new employee had made a mistake, but he doubled down and insisted it was “more meat than the lunch special.”
What little chicken I did get was below mall food court quality and nowhere near worth what they’re charging. For that price, this is unacceptable. There are too many better options nearby to ever justify paying this much for so little, and I don’t see myself ever coming back.
This is an order at the counter restaurant. Kristi was working front of house. She helped my vegetarian friend decide on her choices, patiently explaining the dishes, answering all questions and making suggestions.
The lunch specials run until 2:30 everyday…choice of appetizer and entree. My friend ordered the Black Bean entree with tofu and substituted some vegetables plus egg drop soup. I had the Serrano Black Bean entree with chicken plus hot and sour soup.
Both entrees were generously tasty portions. I viewed a few other plates which also looked delicious. I will definitely be back for more!
Reminder – Make sure to tip when ordering or at the table as some refrain from doing so at counter order restaurants.
Kristi happily took our order, brought our food, checked on us, bussed our plates and cleaned up afterwards.
