The food was okay overall. I ordered the 1-pound shrimp, and the portion size was generous with plenty of shrimp, which I appreciated. However, the flavor felt like it was missing something, and the seasoning didn’t quite stand out. I was also surprised that it only came with two red potatoes, which felt a bit light for the meal. With a little more flavor and better sides balance, it could be much better.

I am not always one to leave a review unless a company blows my mind… this is the place to do it! I personally have been coming to shrimp shack in food lab since I was a little girl and every time I visit from out of state, I make sure to stop here every time! Not only are the owners so inviting and sweet. They go out of their way to perfect every dish out of their kitchen. Tonight was a release of this new Hawaiian roll dessert they created. I was honored to be the first one to try it. Let me tell yall!!!! Out of this world. If I could give more stars, I would. Keep up the amazing work! I’ll be back soon!

I saw the menu listed Cajun Shrimp and grits and I had to try it. Well I don’t enjoy too spicey of food so I asked to not have the Cajun spice- they could do that so yes – YUM. We knew there were beignets so we got an order of 4 bigness too. Another great choice.
The shrimp and grits was buttery, smooth and savory with the cheese, chopped peppers, onion and andioulle sausage. The beignets definitely were hot and fresh. The beignets were puffy, lightly sweet and bisquitty. Biting into the beignet it was puffy but also dense in a good way, it had substance. Always use caution with the powdered sugar. So yummy. I would order both again!

Set inside the Downtown Riverside Food Lab, this place provides very friendly, helpful service and pretty good food. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla plus 6 wings. I was able to do half and half for the wings: Cajun Sweet Chile and Spicy Garlic. Both were good, but I probably would have liked the regular buffalo more.
The shrimp quesadilla could have used more cheese, but overall it was filling and delicious. They provided a side of sour cream and a side of ranch for the wings. For those 2 meals plus 1 medium fountain drink (unlimited refills btw), I paid about $20. Obviously plenty of seating in the nice atmosphere of the food lab, so that was an added bonus.
Overall I would come here again as the food was great and the menu is huge, so I would probably try out some other stuff they’ve got

I got a mango margarita to complete my meal and hands down the BOMB!!! He was amazing enough to give a water cup!! He was very sweet and helpful. My food was cooked fast. There was plenty of room to sit compared to other food sections. The egg with the rice was so good, the rice was fluffy. Sausage was soft until the skin but who doesn’t enjoy thick skin… lol the shrimp was perfectly cooked that sauce was just prepared with flavor and texture…

I love ❤️ this place located inside of the riverside Food Lab. The margaritas and wings are a happy hour pair. They also have fish tacos here seafood boil and beignets. if ever inside the food lab, make sure you stop by and check them out see for yourself.

The food is good however I keep getting this issue, my shrimp isn’t completely deveined. If I am paying extra for it to be deveined and cleaned it should be. It takes away from me wanting to continue to eat it.
