It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends. Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round. Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood! At the Shrimp Basket, our goal is to make sure that you – our friends – leave happy and satisfied after every visit.

With just the manager (Tony) and one waitress (Alexis), they did a wonderful job! Very attentive and food was delicious. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Only complaint is the music needs to be more diversified (include a little of everything for everyone)

Just ate here tonight. And I will say, why have I not been before! Great Service and Great Food. Been to many Seafood Restaurants on the beach and Shrimp Basket in Gardendale is hands down above any I’ve been too! Very clean and the Waitress was awesome, she checked on us many times to makes sure we were good! Best Crab Claws I’ve had, and the Popcorn Shrimp was exceptional! The Cocktail sauce is probably the Best I’ve ever had! Me and wife will be back soon!

We received a catered meal from the Shrimp Basket, and cannot say enough positive things about our experience. We had both the Shrimp Cajun Pasta and the Chicken/Conecuh sausage Cajun Pasta. Both arrived steaming hot and delicious. The brownie bites were an additional sweet surprise! Thank you Alexis and Tony for great service and excellent food! We look forward to ordering more catered meals from y’all in the future.

I will share that upon entering in it was a very peaceful atmosphere. I was able to scan at least 80 percent of this restaurant. Clean and I mean clean. Upon entering I did not smell food. The ventilation was superior because upon leaving I did not smell like what I had been eating. Everyone was doing their part and this location was being ran smoothly. After my order was taken my hostess Lydia came by 3-4 times to make sure that I was tended to. I had a challenging day and this atmosphere truly ironed out the chaos of it all.

This place NEVER disappoints! Me and my friends went here this past week or so and let me tell you when I say the food is good…. THE FOOD IS GOOD! I decided to try their cowboy burger this time and it now has me forever in a chokehold. I was blessed to have Alexis as my server because she was very attentive to us and I never had to flag her down for anything simple like refills or condiments! Tony also made an appearance at our table because we were having such a good time and we started having an even better time after he made the time out of his day by just greeting us, seeing how our experience was, and him telling jokes! It just makes the atmosphere overall relaxed and friendly.

I had the popcorn shrimp and my husband had the combination with catfish and shrimp. Catfish was a little overdone but everything else was great.
Service was wonderful. Lydia was very attentive and our drinks never ran low. She checked on us numerous times during the visit. As someone who was a server for many years – I know what I look for in service – Lydia went above and beyond!
