Shotgun Eddys is a place where your family can come to enjoy a good meal and maybe a cocktail or two. Later in the evening this will have more of a bar feel to it. After the kitchen closes, we will still offer bar food such as pizza, French fries and a few other easy to make items.

My partner and I have had several friends say how wonderful this place is. So we decided to go on a Sunday. (Which probably wasn’t the best idea) My partner ordered the Po Boy Fish… I ordered the Horseshoe sandwich – which only had one slice of bread/bun and fries… We had to WAIT at least 30 minutes for our food when everyone around us that came in later was served first. ☹️ My burger was like shoe leather – waaaay over cooked. My partner order the fish and it too way waaaay to over cooked. ☹️ We understand it was Sunday and the church crowd came in not long after we arrived. So will will give it at least one more try at some point. Our server “Ora Ann” was pleasant and as efficient as possible. She was absolutely busy the whole time we were there. She is certainly a hard worker! And probably under paid. She has no control over the food served. IF I was giving this place a grade – it would be a “C”… Again, we’ll try it again to see how the next experience goes. But, not very impressed with our first experience. ☹️

Stopped by Shotgun Eddy’s near Shawnee National Forest expecting just a convenient bite — turns out it’s a hidden gem. I got the chicken sandwich, fries, and chicken quesadillas, and honestly, those quesadillas were some of the best I’ve ever had!! I thought the place was only popular because it’s the only spot around, but that’s definitely not the case — it’s popular because the food actually slaps. Great portions, friendly vibe, and the perfect stop after exploring the forest.

Our server evan was great and the place was super clean very nice and peaceful the food was fresh and the music was not to loud at all where you couldn’t be heard or even hold a conversation. I would definitely recommend going to this place

This local restaurant in Eddyville is a gem. The staff is extremely friendly and took very good care of us. We had dinner here 2 days in a row after all day hiking. The food is delicious and will not disappoint. We were lucky to be in town on a Friday and Saturday night. Friday nights they have the steak special, which was absolutely delicious, and Saturdays they have the catfish special.
Be sure to try their famous Bloody Mary and their homemade and flavorful desserts, like the peach cobbler and the banana nut cake.

A friend and I thought the Catfish tacos & Veggie taco were excellent, along with a steak salad. Great prices and quality food. Servers were busy so service was slow, but luckily we were not in a rush and they were friendly. Enjoyed the live music outside on a Saturday evening too!

Sweet waitress, amazing food, best atmosphere I had ever at an eating out place. The sudden rain made it even better! Family friendly, gave us blocks and chocolate milk with whip cream, and for adults Baileys shots. Will come again soon!

Stopped for dinner, with eight others, on a Saturday evening and had a great experience. Food was good, service was great, and the view was amazing. Everything we ordered was correct and came out in a timely manner. The meat in the philly cheesesteak was so juicy and thinly sliced. Our only critique was that the meals were a little bland and could have had a bit more seasoning. However, overall, we had a fantastic time and will be back!

This place was a nice hidden gem on our anniversary vacation in southern IL. Stayed at an airbnb nearby and this was one of the few options. Had the best fried catfish of my life and had a great menu overall. Their pork sandwich was amazing too. Best simple dessert menu too. Stop in if your visiting for sure!

First time we had made it back to Shotgun Eddy’s since 2019. They have really expanded since. Very large outdoor area with a stage and plenty of seating. The inside is very nice with plenty of seating.
They have a large menu to choose from. I had the Chuck wagon which is chicken fried steak with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo on a bun with french fries. Had a cup of chili to go with it. Everything was delicious, the service was fantastic. Definitely look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu.

Small town bar, family dining. Food was great all around. Pretty sure we tried every appetizer. All were great especially the corn bite. The kids menu was hilarious.
I ordered the open faced beef and mashed taters (beef Manhattan). Wife had the chili cheese fries and fish tacos. Boy had the Eddie burger and my daughter had the “I wanna go home” off the kids menu.
My plate was clean. That says alot. Waitress was taking care of the entire dining room and did a fantastic job.
