Got there right at opening, so it was quiet and relaxing. As for the service well it fit the atmosphere, quiet and relaxing, not rushed etc. I Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with added grilled onion and jalapeños. First the bacon was perfect not to crunchy not too chewy. Grilled veg were also cooked just right had a bit of char on them. Burger was nicely cooked and juicy. Bun was right size for burger. The whole thing held together well, hate it when they fall apart. I actually never put the burger down from start to finish, that’s how much I liked it. I had a side salad instead of fries and it was delicious. My wife also ate a salad with chicken on it. She said it was very good and had nice creamy thick ranch dressing. Her salad was a full sized meal which came with the price, which was fair. Total we spent 23$ not bad for a good quality product.

Great new chef!! Give it a try! We had stopped going because the food was blah. Since the new chef is there the food is great! The buffet is always hot and fresh! Tea is fresh and delicious. There are also new menu items to try! I heard the lettuce wraps are great!

Well, it was beautifully decorated, but the food is expensive for this area. I have never been to a restaurant that served a steak that was mainly fat. I was astonished. The side items were great, but the steak entrees we had were not that great. My husband’s steak was the super fatty one, my steak had great flavor but was so tough it was really difficult to chew. Very disappointed in them. I was also very taken back that they served soft drinks from a can and not from a fountain over ice. That is so below my expectations of a restaurant of that caliber. They did have a great boutique items for sale, but they crowd the dining room and take up room that could be better served for customer dining. Its not somewhere I will eat again, but if I need a great home decore item, candle, shoes, purse, or some jewelry I might stop by there again.

Stopped there on a family trip. I had the bacon bbq burger, my kids got the kid burger and my wife got the chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious! The burgers were some of the best I’ve had, and way better than any fast food burger. The chicken sandwich was a nice, big breast. And the buns were great.

Wife and I shared “The Blanket” huge chicken fried steak. More than enough to fill both of us, that thing was huge! Service definitely lacking. Some improvements in that area would make for a totally different dining experience. Overall good restaurant.

First time here. Whatever u do if u are a steak lover, not here do not order the steak. I ordered the ribeye & it was cooked on a flat iron skillet grill no flame. Was alright but not to my liking, didn’t even look like a steak rather a huge pork chop. Took 2 bites & left the rest. Waitress asked if wanted anything else or cooked a lil more but after hearing how it was cooked didn’t want to bother with it. STILL CHARGED ME FOR THE STEAK. LMAO WOW. FYI the fish my ordered was outstanding. Won’t ever come back though. Thank you very much

Good food..My husband had the lunch buffet, he seemed to enjoy it. I ordered off of the menu, it took the server a while to take my order then it took about 15 mins to get my plate. It was tasty and hot albeit a bit slow.

New owners have no clue on how to run a restaurant. Seems like they cut a lot of corners. HEB getting a lot of there money. Should be ashamed of themselves for using generic ingredients then charging an arm and leg. Restaurant business is about consistency and Shortys falls way short of that. If the customers really knew what they were being served they wouldn’t set foot in this place. Stay away from Shortys.

Must of been an off night. Sirloin was undercooked even after sending back. Very salty tasting and fatty. Out of several items on a not so busy night. Waitress seemed very flustered.
