Cool place- fun atmosphere. Came and grabbed a drink and hang out while we waited for dinner at Mac Daddy’s across the street (90 minute wait). So why not? Got the drinks to us quickly and friendly. A couple fun pool tables to play at. Several tables inside and out. They were getting ready to have some live music too.

If you are local and know the bartender, expect a beer almost immediately. If you are a tourist and the bartender is sober, wait isn’t that bad for a cold beer. Seems like there is always just one bartender and gets frustrating trying to get a beer. But, this place is a must for people visiting from out of town and have never been.

I have been going to Shorty’s for forty years. Have a couple of items Miss Rose gave to me that are treasured. We always make the time to drop in for a cold one or four every time I am in Port A. So very appreciative the owner moved the building instead of losing another very special place in old Port A. Folks that are leaving negative reviews need to sit back and chill and soke up the vibes of this place… Last of its kind…

It was a great place! Bartenders were fun, fast, and friendly. The beer was cold and the people were a good time. A band played later in the evening. I’ll be back for sure. Long live dive bars that sorority chicks and bridesmaids walk in and leave immediately!!
