We had a really yummy dinner here. We started with the shrimp appetizer and the avocado fries. Both were excellent. For dinner, we had the swordfish sandwich, the Chilean seabass and the pork chop. All were really good but the pork chop was outstanding. 10/10 highly recommend. We had key lime pie for dessert, also delicious. Service was decent, especially considering how busy our server was. Atmosphere downstairs had great music and it was very pretty. Upstairs was nice but would’ve preferred sitting downstairs. Overall, we liked it and we will be back.

I’m shocked there aren’t more reviews condemning Shorebird’s actions on Christmas Day.

We arrived promptly for our reservation— a few minutes early, in fact. However, we were made to wait over 40 minutes to be seated at our table. That should have been our first sign to get out while we still could. However, it was Christmas; we grew a bit impatient, but trusted that the food and experience at Shorebird would be worth it. Not to mention many restaurants are closed on Christmas and we felt we didn’t have much of a choice. (Spoiler: it was not worth it!)

When we were finally seated at approximately 7:00, our waiter takes our orders for drinks, appetizers, and entrees and proceeds to make himself scarce. We did not see him again for nearly 90 minutes. An hour after ordering, at which point we are famished, a kitchen staff member delivered a couple of our sushi rolls and then disappeared. We were a bit confused as no other food followed, these were ordered as entrees, AND the appetizers were still nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, it’s clear that we were not alone in our frustration. Nearly all the tables surrounding us were full of people but bare of food. The hunger and tension in the room was palpable. The restaurant manager made a visit to one of the tables and seemed to apologize for the wait, but everyone else was left alone.

Shortly after 8:30, most of our remaining food is finally brought to the table after more than 90 minutes of waiting. Our steaks that were ordered medium were delivered rare, and their accompanying potatoes were overdone (one potato, as pictured below, was literally burnt to a crisp). We decided that the appetizers must have been a figment of our imagination, and asked our waiter to just take them off the check so we wouldn’t have to wait any longer in this purgatory. The rest of the food was good, but NOT worth the price or the wait.

I feel for the Shorebird employees as most of them seemed to be hustling and doing their best. There was clearly a myriad of problems behind the scenes that made their job extremely difficult on this Christmas evening. However, this standard of hospitality is unacceptable for such a quality establishment— they should have just closed the restaurant for Christmas, rather than put their patrons through hell.

After leaving hungry and frustrated, we were pleased to find better food and service at the Shelee’s Travel Center down the highway.

Merry Christmas!

We felt fortunate to grab a last-minute reservation on Christmas Day, and so appreciated the staff that worked to enable us to dine at Shorebird!
It’s a nicely-designed space with a cool, laidback vibe.
All of our food was very tasty and the service was friendly, if a bit slow. Turns out we may have been fortunate to have been seated at 5pm, because by the time we left, the restaurant was full, and the lobby packed with people waiting to be seated. (We could have vacated our table at least 15 minutes earlier than we did if anyone had come to take my CC).
We enjoyed our meal and would be happy to go back sometime.

This is a new restaurant to our area, but a small chain restaurant company. We sat at the bar for dinner and drinks. Happy hour menu does have some good options.
Be prepared to wait. The bartenders are very slow at orders and drinks. Once we were able to order, the food came out pretty quickly. The sushi was very good! And the stuffed eggs are to die for! The specialty drinks are pretty standard. The key lime pie is delicious with the raspberry sorbet!
I think they will have to step up their game if they plan to survive the expectations the El Paseo crowds have.

Shorebird has such a great atmosphere, especially during happy hour (Last Friday). The Sushi Lido is incredibly fresh and full of flavor, definitely one of the best sushi options in the area. I also tried the chicken sandwich, which was juicy and surprisingly memorable. The cocktails were well-made and paired perfectly with the food.

The highlight of the evening was the live music. There’s a guitarist who performs with a really professional presence and an IMPRESSIVE voice. He plays a wide range of songs that fit the vibe perfectly and makes the whole experience feel elevated. It’s not just background music; he genuinely adds to the energy of the place.

Overall, great food, great drinks, and exceptional live music. A place worth coming back to!

I don’t know how this restaurant manages to remain open given the competition here in the Coachella Valley. My neighbor and I decided to go one night for dinner. We made a reservation and were seated within a reasonable amount of time. Here’s the kicker. The server offered us several “special’s” that were available that night. Without thinking to ask the price I mistakenly ordered the halibut. My neighbor ordered a chicken meal off the menu. As most restaurant’s of this caliber bring bread and butter I actually had to ask the server for it. He told us that their policy was to only bring bread if the customer requests it. And much to my surprise he brought 2 small rolls. If you wanted more you had to “ask” for it. When my meal arrived it consisted of a small piece of dried halibut over some green beans. Disappointing to say the least. In retrospect I should have sent it back and requested something else. I grudgingly ate what I could and we finished up. When the bill came I almost fell to the floor. They charged $69.95 for the meal. Our entire bill with tip was well over $100 for the 2 of us. I will never patronize this restaurant again. I’m at a loss how they manage to stay open; particularly with The Daily Grill just a few doors down (that restaurant is exceptional). In summary I would strongly recommend you stay away from Shorebird. Otherwise you only have yourself to blame for what transpires.

Ambience on the first floor was underwhelming for a new place in the desert compared to tommy bahama or grapefruit basil. The jay hot chicken sandwich was dry and tasted a little burnt. Very sad. Great place to just go for happy hour get drinks and keep moving. Fries were good. The other people in my party liked the happy hour burger and sushi. I missed happy hour specials by about 8 minutes so i paid full price for my order. Not to pricy to be honest. Decent portion sizes. The guy bartender with the glasses was fast and knowledgable about the menu. Free parking lot in the back of the restaurant.

Worst. Restaurant. Experience. Ever. I’ve never been so irritated at an establishment.
Let me share the timeline. We arrived at 6:10 for a 6:15 reservation. We were told our table wasn’t ready, that we’d have to wait. We were not seated for forty more minutes. Service was fairly immediate, initially. We ordered drinks, apps, and entrees. Then we didn’t see or hear from our waiter for over one hour. Unreal. At around the one hour and ten minute mark, we received two sushi rolls that had been ordered as entrees, delivered by someone from the kitchen. Still no sign of our waiter or our appetizers. After over ninety minutes, our waiter FINALLY checked in on us and said that the food would be out soon, that they were very backed up in the kitchen. Gee, tell me something I don’t know. At any rate, we FINALLY received the rest of our entrees over ninety minutes since we sat down. We told him to forget about the appetizers that we were really looking forward to, merely because we didn’t want to wait on them. No explanations were given prior to this. No manager at the table to communicate. Nobody. Nothing. For ninety minutes. I understand it was a holiday, but this place should know better, especially with the prices they are charging. The food was marginal. Not up to the standard of the prices charged. The two steaks were both undercooked, but we didn’t want to waste any more time in this place by asking for it to be corrected. One of the three potatoes served with one of the steaks was literally incinerated. Burned to a crisp. The fact that it made it on the plate was mind boggling. The Wagyu burger and Cuban sandwich were actually good, but after hours of sitting there staring at all the other angry patrons in the room, it didn’t make up for the absolutely horrific experience. Shorebird, a little communication goes a LONG way. Drop off some bread. Say you’re sorry. Explain what is happening. Don’t leave people sitting to stew in their anger and frustration like this. Everyone in the area where our table was located went through the same hell at your restaurant last night, and you should be ashamed. The fact that I actually had to pay for that level of incompetence is insane. Your lack of customer awareness is appalling.

Do. Better.

The ambiance so cozy and perfect for family and friends, it’s a great area and Good location because the shopping center is there. their food is delectable nice set up. I was to celebrate my birthday there but they don’t give you a complementary birthday cake. It was in the reservation said for birthday celebration.
It was disappointed.
