In total, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in some time. The fries were near perfect. The burger was very decent. The mac and cheese was rather good.
The restaurant has an extra room for overflow seating or reservation which is suprising for these sort of places. Lunch crowd was busy, but not packed. The facility was surprisingly clean. The flooring was worn LVT, but not distracting. The 8 foot suspended ceiling had clean panels.
Waitstaff was friendly and available. Very helpful but a little busy, which is understandable for the lunch rush.
Along with the normal menu, there were two signs with specials.
The fries were great. Could’ve been a little more warm, but the texture was ideal. The ranch was homemade and a little to runny for my taste. Probably made to be more of a dressing than a dip.
The mac and cheese was homemade and rather thick. I do recommend trying it.
The burger was good, but a little lacking to other features of the meal. The bun was of average quality, but was buttered and toasted skillfully. Not too crisp. The Patty was just slightly over cooked but enjoyable. Adequate amount of cheese. Very good for the price, but I would’ve paid more for a slightly higher quality cheese or breading.
One surprise was the portions of the meal. As patron of many similar establishments, I found the pricing to be considerably cheaper than typical. In my experience most comparable diners would rather offer larger portions at higher prices, forcing commitment to one one entry and a single side dish. Shooter’s differentiation was a welcomed change. Guests can choose two or more sides easily without waiting food or money. You could even order two separate main courses without being overwhelmed.
