I was a fan of Shoney’s. Not anymore!! Took a considerable amount of time to receive our order off the menu. It then had to be corrected. My steak wasn’t good it was dry. No SOAP in the men’s restroom but you must wear a mask while at the lack luster buffet. Only positive.. I was given a military discount.

A very run down old Shoney’s building. A major renovation is needed inside and out.
Try ordering from the menu. The buffet (breakfast) was not very good. There were some good things but most were not flavorful at all.
Cheese sauce and gravy was mostly water.
Bacon was crispy and diced potato was ok. Fruit was ok. Fried bologna tasted good.
Definitely not worth $13.
Wait staff was friendly and attentive. This was the only bright spot to this visit.
I will not be returning to this location.

I was a fan of Shoney’s. If you are hungry.. You probably still should not stop here. Took a unreasonable amount of time to receive what we ordered from the menu. To be “extra” no soap in the men’s restroom, but signs were up about wearing my face mask!! One positive.. I was given a military discount.

We arrived at 1:05pm not knowing the restaurant closed at 2pm. We were told to sit anywhere. Most of the seats in the booths were torn/ripped. We located one where we could sit comfortably. Very shortly thereafter a waitress arrived at our booth. She was very nice. I apologized for arriving so close to the closing time. She assured me that was not a problem. We were served our food in a timely manner after taking our order. The food was very good. Everything was hot. My only complaint would be that they starting mopping the floor while we were still eating.

The Buffet was Great. All the food was hot and plentiful. The Service from the waitresses and the manager was excellent. We got there around 10:40am and had breakfast. At 11:30 they set out a lunch buffet. I overrate and thoroughly enjoy myself as well as the other people at the table with me. I will be returning to Shoney’s.

We were traveling from Texas to New Orleans and decided to stop at Shoney’s in Jennings LA. We’ve eaten at Shoney’s before in New Oleans and had wonderful experiences. However, when we visited the Jennings location most of food from the limited buffet was not hot. The restaurant appeared clean; however, the restaurant is in need of renovation. Ladies restroom has a hole in the ceiling. I ordered one pancake and had to cancel because after almost 30 minutes still no pancake. Our waitress was professional. As soon as we were seated she came to our table and asked what we would like. If I can go as far as to recommend that the ladies restroom be fixed along with the door ASAP. The food at the buffet needs to be checked often to ensure food is hot and safe for consumption. Very disappointing experience .
