Cute little restaurant. They have donburi, poke bowls, curry, poutine and burger. The food was filling and tasty. The place gets a bit crowded at lunchtime because there is a school across the street.

We loved Shokutsuki and have been to it multiple times. The food is very tasty and the owner is very invested. The taste is however getting high salt with perhaps soya sauce balance in the food. The quality of food is very good.

This place is fantastic. I felt completely in Japan. Everything tasted delicious, although the fried food was greasy. I would definitely go back, although it seemed a bit pricey.

Good food and portion for a fair price. Nice atmosphere, but the Curry was a little cold and the poutine was half-hot and half-cold, depending on where I took a bite. Felt like microwaved sauces. I don’t mind though, as long as it’s hot.

Slightly disappointed.
Overall it was really nice however the curry was a little cold and the potatoes just edible but had a raw hardness and starchy flavour.
Tip: If you’re open, please prep your menu food to be 100% ready.
Hopefully a slight oversight and will come back again.

A great hidden gem! I have been there twice and the food was creative, homemade and fresh each time. The service was wonderful and attentive, and I look forward to returning. Currently, there is a lot of city construction right outside their door—it wouldn’t be Montreal without it! Don’t let that stop you from going. I didn’t really hear any noise from the construction, and a trip to Shokutsuki is worth it. There’s also ample parking in the neighbourhood.

Unagi poke bowl needed more eel and sauce for that volume, like it felt more like a dry salad. Onigiri were good but typical. Snowflake cookies were bite sized but good, reminded me of mini rice crispy squares and come in a cute bag, perfect as a gift, homemade dessert was a matcha mousse which was kind of underwhelming for that price and the fact that you can’t chose which dessert you get.

This is a cute little restaurant with a creative retro style decor. The food is very tasty and everything is housemade. We tried the crispy chicken and it was full of flavours. We also tried the fried chicken and the batter was crispy and the chicken was tender and juicy. Finally I had the Unagi Donburi as suggested by the owner Suki. All the ingredients were fresh and the eel was torched which made it a bit crispy and smokey. Finally we had banana bread for dessert and some cookies. We especially liked the cookies as it has a bit of the texture of a rice crispy square but that’s not what it is at all. We had a great experience and we would definitely be going back. Thanks for everything Suki!
