My friend and I accidentally came in here because she thought they would have Hot and Sour soup. I told her that it was a Japanese restaurant so they only have Miso soup. Anyways, we were greeted by a very nice gentleman by the counter, he showed us their menu. My friend asked him if they have Hot and Sour soup (she was determined that they would make one just for her). He laughed apologetically and replied that they were a Japanese restaurant and that their only soups in the menu were Miso (Soy bean paste soup) and Clear Soup (Mushroom, onion and scallion). I told her to try the Miso Soup, she gave in and also ordered 2 rolls from the Shogun Jr Special Rolls for S10.25, and she chose the California roll and the Alaska roll. I studied their menu diligently and decided on the Volcano Roll from the Chef’s Special Rolls for $13.95 and Siomai or Shumai from the Appetizer. My friend also tried a Korean Melon drink that she was so fascinated with. The place was pretty clean, and empty, although customers came in one at a time picking up their takeaway orders non-stop. We sat in a very spacious booth while soft jazz played through their sound system. They had an open kitchen concept so you could hear the gentleman and his wife communicating with each other as they prepare one dish after the other. Within less than 10 minutes are food came out. First, he brought out my friend’s Miso soup with seaweed and my Siomai. Then our sushi came out within a minutes after he gave us our appetizer. Just a little baffled…everything were in take-out containers. My friend ans I looked at one another and I said, “Maybe they serve it that way just in case the customer decides they can’t finish everything they can take it home.with them. All they’ll need are the lids.” So we proceeded to eat… I opened the small white styrofoam container that had my Siomai as if I was a child opening my fist gift on Christmas day, only to be a bit disappointed what I saw inside. The Siomai were tiny, deep fried, rather than steamed, and did I mentioned tiny?! 8 tiny pieces…looked as if it was dipped in a tempura batter then deep fried. Never had something liked that before. So I tried one…picked up one with my chopsticks, dipped it in the ginger sauce. On a scale of 1/10 I would give it a 5/10. My friend said the Miso soup was nice, but not great. It was perfect sipping for the cold night. I then tried my Volcano roll. The rolls were sliced very thick, the shrimp tempura tasted fresh and crunchy, the spicy king crab wasn’t really spicy and the crab meat on top with the eel sauce was piled high. Overall, it was delicious, yet a little hard to shove one roll that thick in my mouth all at once. I gave it about 7/10. My friend’s sushi she said were okay, average just like any typical type of California roll and the Alaska Rolls were okay. She gave them a 6/10. It’s a nice little place to enjoy conversations with friends and family. The meals in their menu are quite affordable…btw I saw a review that stated that the Spring Rolls were pretty pricey? Ahm…$3.15 for 2 Spring Rolls aren’t that pricey…especially for that part of town or let alone Fayetteville. Lol. But, try them if you’re looking for an affordable Japanese restaurant. I would come back…I would give them for my experience 8/10 overall. Oh and another thing, bring an extra jacket…we were freezing in there even though they had the heater on. Stay classy.

I would give them no stars if I could. Food was disgusting!! I was so disappointed and I wanted my money back. Do not eat here. I was not given fried rice, I was given this rice and it looked like they split one egg between me and my husband’s plate of food. The zucchini in my teriyaki hibachi chicken plate was sour. Smh I was very very disappointed.

Very well priced menu, we ordered a bunch of variety to test this place out. They are fast, efficient, and friendly!

Their gyozas and egg rolls are out of this world while the general tsos chicken was unfortunate. The Chicken was dry and didn’t have enough sauce for our liking.

The sushi rolls were large, which is user preference, and quite tasty, not the best in town but certainly adequate. We disagreed on the soup, I was a fan while my wife was left disappointed saying that it lacked garlic/salt/flavor.

Long story short, ordering the egg rolls and gyoza with a few sushi rolls is a safe bet. Looking forward to coming back

Not much to say but NEVER AGAIN!! I ordered hibachi and my daughter ordered one with the veggies. When I pic up the amount is greater than I expected to find out the price online isn’t the correct t price, something about the man put wrong info, not my problem. So I’m starving, okay, over charge for white sauce, ridiculous. I get my food home to see it’s ins dividers which I hate and full of veggies and the Sauce was So watered down and thin,Had no Flavor, NONE!! The worse Japanese to go ever!!! These companies are using sectional plates to give less, DON’T Go !! After we transferred to a plate verses that black container and rice in a soup bowl and the Soup ‍ . Looks is Very Deceiving, we were DECEIVED!
Try, New Osaka Jr or Kyoto Express, it’s worth the few extra miles!!!!

Figured eating “To stay” in a sit-down restaurant, paying $30 for a meal, you’d atleast get a plate/ bowl, not Styrofoam. Sushi tasted ok but kept falling apart. Steak was ok, nothing crazy. Shrimp tasted old and frozen. Veggies were fresh and rice was ok. Meal comes with miso, had to go back up to the counter to request it. It’s a nice looking place inside, that could make a killing if they knew what they were doing.

Hibachi was very bland. White sauce was indescribably bad. Even the sushi i got was surprisingly boring. Do not recommend at all. Not sure if i was wildly unlucky or this is the standard but it was bad! Even the miso soup

We received our vegetable plates at work and let me tell you the vegetables where RAW didn’t even touch the grill. Carrot was so hard fork wouldn’t even go through it.. The broccoli and zucchini where bright green and crunchie. Very disappointed will never order from here again. I wouldn’t even give 1 star !!!

Oh my, I was so disappointed. I placed a takeout order, the service was fast, that’s the only good thing I can say.

The order was filet mignon hibachi bowl. I guarantee you that was no fillet, it was so dry & tough, you couldn’t even chew it. The steak and vegetables were bland. The White sauce had no flavor, I’m glad I didn’t order extra for 50 cent more. There’s other options around, try those first, this one is not it.

Ordered take out – what a waste. The food had NO flavor. Kitchen is lacking lessons on seasoning. That rice was the most flavorless fried rice Ive ever had. Half the steak was tough and not edible. Wouldnt consider my dish steak hibachi. Waste of money.
