The staff was rude. We felt rushed and like we were a burden. There was junk all over this restaurant. Tables and booths that are out of commission are stacked up in eating areas with boxes of napkins and storage items on top, literally all over the restaurant anywhere you look. The staff wears gloves but it feels like it has nothing to do with cleanliness for the customer. They were unclean and worn like they were either for show or to protect the staff from getting their actual hands dirty. The place was filthy. From a broken front window to storage items stacked up everywhere to just zero maintenance in any field. 18 percent gratuity added to our bill. My husband couldn’t even get a refill on his drink. They were rude to the other guests at our table. The food tasted good. We won’t be back.

Great Place and Great Experience! You get a good amount of food for the price and the chef comes to cook it in front of you. There is a 18% service fee/ tip added to your bill even if it’s only two people, I normally tip 20% so I just added the difference. I recommend this restaurant.

I really wanted to enjoy my visit to Sho Gun in Sterling Heights, but I left disappointed. The wait staff was surprisingly rude and dismissive, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. The food itself was fine, but good food can’t make up for poor service. I expected better hospitality and won’t be returning with my family

First time here and never coming back! A family of five sat with my guest and me but the host only greeted and talked to them throughout our visit (clearly knew them), ignoring us. The already small food portions were bland and flavorless. Despite purchasing combos, cook served the other family extra food portions. Horrible first-time experience. Favoritism displayed Additionally, an automatic 18 percent gratuity charge got included in the bill for subpar service. The only positive aspect? My delicious but overpriced drink. $40 for this plate not worth it!

I really I came here to try the sushi, and it was good but did not completely stand out. I felt that it really did not stand out. The smoked salmon and cucumber roll was the best one that I had. I also ordered the Key West roll; it was crab meat with avocado deep fried, ginger dressing and spicy sauce on top. The fried part is what got to me because it had a rubber like texture to it. It looked just like the tempura I ordered; however, it was a completely different texture.
The tempura I ordered was the vegetable tempura. It was deep fried to a perfect crisp, and the flavor was delicious. But I did not care for the sauce it came with (I am not sure what type of sauce it was).

Amazing fried rice!! I wish they added more veggies and egg but I’d still choose this restaurant over many!
Update: the last few times I ordered the fried rice, there was barely any eggs and veggies and the peas were kinda hard. I will not be paying $22 for a side of beef fried rice anymore since I learned how to make it, this is a scam! Also I’ve noticed they add tax to my online order and then they add tax again when you go to pay inside

I got a number 17 and a purple rain. The onion soup was delicious and had more veggies than another popular Japanese steakhouse. Our chef was awesome, great showmanship and knowledgeable. I had to wait about 45 minutes because I didn’t have a reservation but it wasn’t that bad. I’ll definitely be back.

Always a wonderful experience. Perfect for date night. I brought my young children for their first hibachi experience. Suffice to say they loved it and all the food as well. Reservation needed on weekends. Service was good though a little slow at times but they always seem to have a full crowd for each grill. Tip your chef!
