Chicken was good. Service was fine, no issues…was a little slow but looked like there was only one lady working, so not all her fault. Our steak was eh…Wasn’t the best, over cooked mostly. The sesame seeds need to be gone…or at least ask if people want them on their meal. It was a bit too much. Everything else was was fine.

Shogun is a great place for special occasions, but can be on the steep side in terms of price. However, you do get what you pay for; the portions are more than enough for one person. The wait staff were very friendly and they catered to our needs. The chef was entertaining as well as skilled, and made our birthday celebration special. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Usually on the weekdays the place is empty (save for the bar crowd), but as for the weekends you might need a reservation in order to get a seat. You may also have to share a hibachi table with another group depending on the crowd, but the tables are spacious enough to where you can enjoy your own privacy.

This place has a distinct dive-y atmosphere, inside and out. It’s surely not the cleanest either. In 2009, when they got their Zagat’s rating, it was probably a LOT nicer. Fast forward to 2017, and I suspect not a whole lot has been changed. I Found my shoes sticking to the carpet in a lot of places which was frankly unsettling – thinking back now it reminds me of a movie theater. It’s very hot in the hibachi dining area and rather hilariously they try to combat with portable AC units. Like a previous reviewer mentioned, it does look like additions were added very haphazardly or at least the lack of decor made it feel like you were walking through a somewhat dingy house with a layout that may not make the most sense.

Not what I expected from a Hibachi grill. I’ve been to 15+ different Hibachi locations throughout the United States and this is by far the worst I’ve been ever been to. My family usually loves Hibachi, however the food, sauces, and restaurant is not good. First thing we noticed was the extreme heat, they have two rooms…one is air conditioned the other has floor units that are obviously not doing the job. Luckily we were able to sit in the colder room that had A/C, however had to walk through some dirty dish section to get their. They need a serious remodel. We arrived at 5:45 and had to wait until other customers showed up before our meal began, this took nearly 45 minutes. We have a large family and there was no need to wait that long to get started with our meal. We had a regular spot in our old town of Ocala, Florida and they began the meal within ten minutes no matter if other people were around or not. Next the food, no “shrimp sauce” or “steak sauce”. Instead they serve a bad honey mustard and another ginger sauce that was not good. The salad was good and the soup was great. My wife is allergic to seafood and we asked them to not cook the shrimp/seafood until her meal was cooked and they agreed. I thank them for this. However why is there sesame seeds on everything? On the rice, the noodles, the chicken, the steak….SO MUCH SESAME….I thought big bird was going to come out.

I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember. The restaurant is very clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is AMAZING. It’s a very family friendly yet classy place. Everyone must try their hibachi dinner.

A good Japanese-style restaurant. A hibachi grill on one side and a sushi and tempura room on the other, with a full-service bar between. Usually full but not overcrowded, so reservations are advisable or you may have to wait at peak dinner hours on weekends. Tables around the hibachi grills seat 8, so a couple or small party may also have to wait a few minutes till the table is more full, before a hibachi chef appears and begins the show. It IS a show, all the cooking is done with a flourish and even a little audience participation. I won’t describe all the details, no spoiler alerts in this review, but it’s fun. Grilled shrimp appetizer, fried rice and chopped vegetables, and a main entree of your choices among steak, chicken, salmon, swordfish, shrimp, are all cooked in front of you at very close range, and a small house salad and bowl of miso soup are brought in. Dessert options include ice cream, fried bananas. A little pricey but not so much if you consider the portion size, it’s easy to take home leftovers, and coupons are available in local mail, or online if you search local coupon website sources. Popular for occasion dinners. A fun restaurant, highly recommend. I’m stingy with the 5th star, but a lot of people would give it 5.

Shogun Habachi is a nasty smelly place, should of walked out the minute I got there. Food was nasty, tasteless pricy and disgusting. They even had a dog on the counter. Will not ever eat there even if my life depends on it, and that’s the truth. Worst food I ever had. Even the salad was nasty. Should of gone to Wendy’s. Big mistake. They don’t even deserve one star. 11/17/2017

I haven’t ever written a google review and created an account strictly to warn people of this restaurant. I went there with a party of 12 this past weekend for a hibachi birthday party. The chef at our table started off by dropping the spatula onto the floor THREE times! I thought this was part of the joke of a hibachi routine, however the extreme unprofessionalism continued throughout the night. The portions of meat were very small and he left the rice on the grill for 30+ minutes, only to serve it to us all once we finished the rest of our food. It was a bizarre experience and I can only hope the chef was drunk or drugged on something. Honestly, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but this place made our party feel like we were in the twilight zone. I would recommend any ohter hibachi place near by :/ Save your money folks

The food isn’t fresh. I went with my fiancé and he enjoys sushi but he did not enjoy his. I ordered hibachi from the dining room and the vegetables were not fresh! The onions tasted rotten and the rice and noodles tasted old. The salad dressing was not the typical tasting ginger dressing I expected. It was this odd orange color and tasted horrible. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to shogun for anything.

I made the ultimate mistake of going here for my birthday. It took the longest for everything to get started, but things went okay once the food started coming out. The cook we had pulled the food from some location under the table, I wonder how long it had been sitting there.
