The atmosphere is high-end and classy.
The server was on-point and very respectful and formal. He has recommendations to offer when we had questions.
Cocktails were very elegant. My husband enjoyed his Thank You for Smoking, which was really unique! Served with a smoking wooden lid over it!
The food was served in a timely manner with minimal wait time (but not too quickly).
We loved the pork belly appetizer the best–it was served in a way I have never seen before, so crisp and mouthwatering, and we both enjoyed the duck with grapefruit and the pork chop with apples as our main courses. The mains do come with sides even though this isn’t mentioned in the menu.
My only complaint is that my pork was slightly overdone, and not medium as requested. The appetizers we got also all had the same sauce on them, and it would have been nice to see a little versatility there. Though of course the aioli was delicious.
We would have gotten dessert, but we were so full! Don’t forget to request bread for your table!
For appetizers, we ordered the Cornmeal & Panko Fried Oysters, which were cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with crispy pork belly. While waiting for our meals, I enjoyed another delightful cocktail called the Cuke of Sussex, made with gin, cucumber, and chartreuse – so refreshing!
For our main courses, my husband had the Chicken Milanaise, which was a perfect blend of savory and sweet, while I ordered the Seared Striped Bass, which was memorable thanks to the mushroom salad and leek fondue. With dinner, I ordered an Aviation, which the bartender executed perfectly and added a beautiful lemon peel garnish. As a notable head nod, we enjoyed some small talk with Priscilla and Jackie. Our experience was truly memorable.
Shoemakers provided a remarkable dining experience, and we can’t wait to return. Five stars all the way!
The waitress was kind and the food and drink were great.
We even had a private room upon request.
If you have the money, Shoemakers is worth a visit.
