My friends and I had a wonderful dinner here! We shared the chicken shish kebab, lamb shish kebab, and Adana kebab plates. The chicken was juicy and tender, the lamb was flavorful, and the Adana ended up being my favorite. We also tried the lemon mint drink. It was a bit too sour at first, but it really grew on me, and I ended up finishing the whole glass. We were also served complimentary baklava for dessert, which was a sweet way to end our evening.

Some friends and I were looking for a late night dinner and wanted Mediterranean, thankfully Shish Ke Baba was open on Easter. We had a warm greeting. They were really helpful considering I didn’t know the lay of the land. Food came out fast and was very authentic and homemade. Everything was delicious especially the rice. It was very arroamic. I will definitely recommend to friends and return!

I’ve never eaten at a Turkish restaurant before, so this was a new experience.

First of all, the place is a small restaurant with a very modern and stylish look. I felt very comfortable and the decor was nice and didn’t feel cramped.

The food I had was absolutely delicious. There was a the classic hummus, which is obviously a great start to the meal. It had a very nice mild taste unlike store bough hummus, paired with a delicious buttery bread that was soft and fluffy on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. Next was the Kofte Kebab which is like ground beef balls with cheese and a bunch of sides like rice, salad, pickled cabbage, etc. The meat was seasoned and cooked absolutely perfectly. Lastly was the desserts. Had to get the baklava of course. Not as sweet as some places which is a lot better in my opinion. I also had this pomegranate, milk, and pistachio dessert which was kinda like a gummy with pistachios in the middle which was very nice.

Can’t forget about the customer service though! The owner is an amazing guy who obviously cares about his business and success. Great guy! I was also asked by several of the workers if I was doing alright. Customer service is top priority and even though they did well, you can never stop improving!

I will definitely come back again if I feel like eating some delicious Turkish cuisine.

Food is tasty and very authentic! We got the sampler platter and koefte kebab and both were very good. It’s lots of food for the price of about $16 per plate. The service is also awesome, they are super friendly and attentive. Maybe that’s because they just opened up but I’d definitely recommend if you want some solid Turkish food.

The baklava looked so good but we were too full. Will have to pick some up another time for sure.

Came here after I saw some reviews so I decided to order the beef lamb Kofte $18 and baclava $5. Total was nearly $27 after tax. Boy was I disappointed… I should’ve noticed the first red flag when I came in around 7pm on a Wednesday and was the only person there ordering food the entire time. Order took over 15 min and when I got home my food looked nothing like what other reviewers posted. Salad was just some green leaves and raspberry dressing my meat was all over the place rice was dry and rice all over my hummus. Their baked pita bread was also dry. I had a feeling something just wasn’t sitting right with my stomach and tried to ignore it but within 30 min after I finished my food I had a mild case of food poisoning and had to handle my business on the toilet and it was not pleasant. Their reviews made them look so good it got me all excited to try their food but I was sadly disappointed and felt like I was taken advantage of by my hunger and knew I wasn’t alone when I saw a couple other reviews lol

Fantastic Turkish/Mediterranean food. Big plates. Super fresh. Homemade everything, even the bread. Fast and very friendly service. Very affordable for SF. Highly recommend.

Update: recently ordered for pickup, the food is still delicious as always (see photo) and their sanitation procedure during checkout is top-notch

Let me just start by simply stating that I’m definitely going to be going back to this restaurant on the regular. This is my new favorite restaurant in the SF area. A couple of reasons why:

1.) When I initially walked in, it was completely dead. I was the only person in there. I was worried that the food might not be fresh but when I placed my order to go I was told that it will take about 15 minutes. That means it was prepared fresh, that’s huge because a lot of restaurants don’t use quality ingredients let alone quality preparations.

2.) The food quality was really good. Well seasoned chicken and great fresh hummus. Again, it was cooked fresh. Lots of good sauce choices.

3.) The service was very friendly, prompt and they made a substitution accomodation for me.

4.) The interior is a very nice layout with soft lighting and nice tables. It is attached through a side door to a hookah lounge. I don’t know if it’s open or not.

As you can see from the similar reviews, this place is definitely a hidden gem. I recommend this place to everyone and I truly hope that the quality doesn’t change. Thanks for the great food kind service and the baklava.

Very fresh and I highly recommend this place. The food was cooked with love. You can taste it in the sauces, meat is nicely seasoned, and the desert is perfectly sweet. (Not overly runny with honey)

Check out my other reviews to know that I don’t often make standout recommendations and have traveled Eastern Europe, Ireland, Hawaii, and Mexico.

You have to come here! I ordered a half Adana (minced lamb patties) and half falafel plate. Their falafel is amazing – crunchy and filled with sesame seeds. I absolutely loved the sauces with the soft Turkish bread. The rice was incredibly flavorful as well. It was a LOT of food for one person, but I loved it so much I nearly finished it all.

They are doing takeout only at the time of review. I ordered at the window and it took less than 10 minutes for it to be ready. Easy street parking around the area.

Delicious, fresh, flavorful and good portion sizes. This place was great! The meat was cooked perfectly and the baklava at the end was fantastic. The bread was soft and was great with the hummus and our meal. The owner was also super nice. Definitely coming back – I think the pictures speak for themselves
