It was our first night in Exuma and wanted seafood, and Shirley’s did not disappoint. We started with some very flavourful Goombay Smashes. For our main course, my wife had the Grilled Lobster while I had the Seafood Melody with pasta, which featured lobster , grouper, and prawns. Fresh and very tasty. Our server was very friendly and checked to make sure we were enjoying our food. A very delightful evening!

Indoor, a little tight, and get really noisy when busy, the spicy pork chop was delicious, recommended. Crab cake was decent. Not a big fan of the chicken parmesan. Friendly service.

I enjoy seafood but my wife doesn’t, so we were able to sample a bit of both sides of the menu. I ordered the Pasta Melody, and she chose the meat plate special, which included chicken (thigh/dark meat), braised short rib, sirloin, mashed potatoes, and vegetables.

My Pasta Melody had good flavor overall, though the seafood was slightly overcooked. My wife’s plate was a bit hit or miss. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were very good, and the chicken was well prepared and flavorful. However, the red meats were disappointing—they arrived gray, quite fatty, and not especially appetizing. At $50 for the meat plate special, we expected better quality and presentation.

On a positive note, our server was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The restaurant is a sit-down establishment, but the atmosphere felt somewhat grungy, with inconsistent lighting that made the space feel a little disjointed.

Overall, there were some highlights, but for the price point, we were hoping for a more polished dining experience.

The service was great very kind people, food was AMAZING, easy to find, easy to order! Definitely a 10/10! Got the Pasta and asked to add parm on it, no problem at all it’s an amazing dish, ate it under 5 minutes!

Went for dinner, got seated promptly, but shortly after us about 630, people had to wait. The server was nice, but except for taking our order, bringing the food, and the check, she never asked us if we needed anything. Then they stand there while you sign and ask for another tip on top of the 18% they automatically charge. Very limited menu. They said they had no salads of any type available! ALL the stores always have plenty of lettuce, onions, carrots, etc, and we’ve been here two months and go to the stores almost every day. There’s no reason to have no salads. The only fish they have is whole snapper, and while the little meat on the small fish was good, it was so full of bones I had to eat slowly and carefully. All the stores and fish sellers have filets, so there is no reason not to have it. Every restaurant on the island, including high-end ones like 23 north, has basically the same menu. Fish, chicken, curry (not good at shirleys and very small portion), lobster, steak, ribs, and pasta. All the prices in Exuma are much higher than any of the other 20+ islands we’ve been to, and quality is poor. That said, Shirleys is better than most.

Conch fritters were okay. Grilled Snapper also okay. The fish was good but they overcooked the fish. It was so dry. It wasn’t juicy at all. Beer prices are low compared to the other restaurants in the town.

We ordered the blackened snapper with the grilled veggies and peas and rice. It was delicious! I have dietary restrictions (no eggs or egg products) and had zero issues with this dish.

We had a great time at Shirley’s. It’s a laidback place with a relaxed atmosphere, good food, and friendly service. The conch fritters were the highlight—so good that I had to order another round! The seafood mac and cheese was also delicious. My lobster tail was a little on the dry side, but the flavors were still nice. For dessert, I tried the guava pie, which was more of a cheesecake with guava syrup on top—not what I expected! There is no outside seating looking over the water. Overall, a solid spot worth checking out!
