I’ve visited this donut shop twice now, and both times I was disappointed by how small the donuts were. They were noticeably tiny — my 4-year-old daughter even commented on it. When a child notices the size difference, that says a lot.

The donuts didn’t even fill half of a box that’s designed to hold a half dozen, yet I paid $9. For that price, I expected better quality and portion size.

The pictures below are from the two occasions I went.

Unfortunately, after two experiences like this, I don’t plan on returning.

Delicious! We have purchased doughnuts & kolaches from this location, they are consistently fresh & delicious. The lady that works there is so nice & sweet, but a little evil because she gives us free samples. The samples are so good we have to go back & buy more! I’m not a fan of sugared doughnuts but when she gave us a free one with our order I had to go back for more. Doughnuts are fresh, warm, fluffy & beautifully light & airy! Not all places make them this way anymore. Hope you try them out too!

I’ve tried 2 other locations on Bandera and will only use this one (even though it’s further away). The donuts taste much better.

First time trying a kolache, these were good! Also had a regular glazed doughnut. Dough for both was fresh and cooked well. Would definitely come back to a Shipley’s after visiting this one.

Some places have like 1 really good donut and the rest are meh. Shipley has great donuts but the coffee is meh. The cherry donuts are the best donuts in the world btw.
